Have any of you tried the "over the counter" weight loss medication called Alli?
I had a coupon so I decided I wanted to experiment with it. It's a fat blocker so you take the capsules with a meal where you would consume up to 15 grams of fat. I did the math and it figures out to be 135 fat calories.
Following this program requires that I read labels; but that's nothing new, to me.
It's making me more aware of the fat that I have in my diet. I have some gluten free meatballs that I really like and 2 of those things are about 114 fat calories. I also like almond butter - I don't even dare to check how many fat calories are found in that.
I'm completely aware that certain fat is healthy; however, I'm in a phase where I want to reduce my weight.
Do you monitor the fat that you consume?

I check labels and just eliminate anything with trans fat. It should also have only a minimum of saturated fat. Monounsaturated fat is supposed to be very good for you, so I try to stick to olive oil in my salad dressings and canola oil for sauteing foods.
I have never in my life been on a diet, per se. I try to eat healthy and avoid processed food. I try also to limit my intake of sugar and salt, but not to the point of eliminating them entirely.
I find that if I drink lots of water and exercise, attempt to maintain a good attitude (hardest thing yet), I remain healthy and at an acceptable weight, which admittedly has gone up over the years. :female:

I've heard of this product but, personally, I think the only way to "lose weight" is to learn how to eat right, including fats, and exercise. So for me, I wouldn't take any of these "so- called diet products."

Not a big fan of OTC weight loss products never know what else they could effect. Woulds rather try and eat healthy and exercise.

no diet pills for me, ever. I just started reading a book by a doctor and it's very interesting. It's called "Dr. Gundry's Diet Evolution". I got it on Amazon......it looks like the only "diet" anyone would ever need. It's no white food, no sugar, no white flour, little protein, some dairy, healthy fats, nuts, (later berries, etc). Mostly vegetables and the book explains why. The doctor his-self looks very healthy for his age. He has a website for more info, and I seen there is more recipes & info on Pinterest too. His approach seems totally healthy & do-able.

I've always been scared of weight loss pills. Seems like they all advertise to be great then several months later people are suing them for some reason or other. I recently joined a gym, am trying to cut out all sodas and most sweets (I don't have the willpower to completely get rid of my sugar lol)...hoping that works well for me! Good luck with your efforts!
