This was so dumb this weekend, When asked what they were protesting they didn't know but trump was bad. DUH women
-
I don't see how it was dumb. Many women and men seemed to be very clear about what they were protesting...from my stand point it is you that doesn't understand what they were protesting. That doesn't make them dumb or you dumb- just have opposing views.
Either way, agree or disagree with the protest, they protested peacefully so there is absolutely no reason to insult them.
-
I think they know what they was protesting about WOMEN RIGHTS!!
-
What has changed about women's rights in the few days Trump has been prez? Nothing.
I believe he just appointed a woman head of the air force or navy, had a woman in charge of his campaign...and several others.
Let's wait and see.

The protests were ridiculous, as well as obscene, and only serves to further the sexist ideas that some men have about women. Women already have equal rights in this country. It isn't a "right" to be able to get away with murder, and anyway men don't have that "right", so why should women? It isn't a "right" to turn women in to men. Women and men in general have different strengths and weaknesses, which make them more or less suitable for various jobs (although of course there are exceptions), and no laws can ever change that. And besides, it's pretty stupid to accuse a president of being anti-women, when he had a woman running his campaign!

i don't see how anyone can respect women anymore with the display of vulgarity this weekend. They have taken women to a new low of disrespect. I think men will look at them and say, 'What? They want respect and are outraged if they're called a ___ (fill in the blank) but then they use the worse vulgarity of all."
Dressing up as a vagina, grabbing their private parts, telling those who don't agree with them f-you, wanting to bomb the White House, giving the 3rd finger salute to a camera, setting a girl's hair on fire because she had the opposite view and stood aside someone with a sign protesting (who did not argue with her and even smiled at the girl)while her friend took a picture is not very smart. The girl could have been burned severely had not a man noticed an put out the fire. The girl had long hair and if her coat caught fire besides her hair, she could have been scarred for life. That was a dangerous stunt to do.
Whatever happened to respect someone else's opinion? There is a double standard and it needs to stop!
-
Everyone has a right to their own opinion. No one has a right to tell a woman what to do with her body or anything of her. Mind your own body and self business.
-
IMHO, it was more of a demonstration, not a protest, in solidarity & a way for some to come together to express themselves on a variety of issues & concerns, & for some to get together to snap selfies for their social media.
-
All men and women are protesting about their rights been violated and their standard of living (quality of life-living/working conditions).
-
Here is what I think..... GO PACKERS !!

It's just plain hard to take anyone who dresses up as a vagina seriously. Next to that, these "women" are pigs and, in my opinion, are telling the world that all they want to do is f**k anything that moves and if they get pregnant, oh well! How can anyone have respect for people like this when they don't even know what the word means and have zero respect for themselves?
-
There were some women out protesting that i would not have wanted achild a boy or girl seeing. It was flat out disgusting. What message is that sending too our children? I feel the news media should not have been showing some pictures of some of those women, if you can call them women. Thank God my mom and grandma taught me to have some respect. There is no way i could ever expose my self like they did.

I have felt sad because I never had any children... so no grand kids as well! But with what is going on in the world these days, I find myself thinking it was ok . I know how I was taught and i never talked in front of my mother like these kids of today do. I'm 58 and from the old school when washing your mouth out with soap was still ok. And please and thank you were some thing you just said. It's a crazy world and people are so darn mean. I believe you need to step up and be responsible when it comes to having kids. I didn't want kids so i made sure I didn't ... I really don't think it would be fair to expect tax payers to end a pregnancy for my being careless.

I know this may have nothing to do with the protesters this weekend per se but our new President had ordered the EPA to cut out the climate change page on the website. It is just data and facts for the public to be aware of, what can be so harmful about that? I need to know so I know when what I can grow now. My area had just been re-defined for a different growing zone due to climate change.

If anything the protests (in my opinion as senseless as they were) has proven once again how we as Americans; both men and women have rights to free speech. There are other countries where that sort of behavior would result in death.
-
About how to treat a woman in general. Everyone has her/his own right. Just need respect to have a peaceful world.
-
as long as peaceful protest they have the right to do so
-
In any large group there will always be a few people that are just there because they can and have no idea or care about the point of the protest. However, with that being said, I can see from several comments thus far that women need to keep demonstrating for their rights and respect and those of other groups also. If Trump has done anything, he has definitely polarized this country and brought out the worst in some people. If women are so equal, why don't they receive the same pay for the same work; have the right to their own bodies the same as men; have the ability to receive healthcare at Planned Parenthood or anywhere else, etc? Yes, there is female voting block empowerment and I suggest that all women carefully look at behaviors, comments, and actions that are being taken in this nation and in each state and organize. Respect and equality is the right of all people! It certainly has not been shown in some comments on this thread.

i dont know why people have to protest w/nastiness and vulgarity, they just look like people w/out morals.

When women get the same pay as men (it now is .70 to every dollar a male earns), when rich or poor can get the same quality of health care, just give us all what the Senate gets. The march was for all our rights not just women's. I keep hearing people who have no idea what the marches (all over the world) were about putting them down. No one had to march if they did not want to, our new President complained because he thought it took some of the attention off of him. He is complaining because he did not win the popular vote, get over it, he is already the President. A lot of what the people (there were lots of men marching too) were marching about was to let him know we are watching him. He already reversed the North Dakota pipeline, we knew that was coming since Trump Industries is such a large shareholder in it. Isn't that a conflict of interest??? Or has he been away from the business so long (5 days) that he forgot?

You would think we were back in the 60's

THANK YOU! So many people are missing the point and probably didn't even watch the march. I couldn't get through some of these comments in this thread because they were so offensive. I watched quite a bit of the march on Saturday and there were MEN speakers, MEN in the crowd, and the issues that were addressed were not just about women, but the water crisis in Flint, the environment (there was a speaker there from the Natural Resources Defense Council), equality among races, etc. It hasn't even been a week that Trump has been in office and he's already trying to pull the plug on the arts and is trying to get that nightmarish pipeline going again. He pulled all the sections on the official White House website that had to do with the environment, civil rights, and the LGBT community. Wake up, people! This man is dangerous. All he cares about is lining his own pocket and making everyone bow down to him. Besides that, don't try to tell me just because he had a woman running his campaign that he gives a second thought to women, other than wanting to sexually harass them, that is. He himself said he can't claim he has respect for women. I will never consider him my president.

Black Sheep NY - you clearly don't know what you're talking about. They were not dressed up as vaginas - if you're referring to the cute hats. Look at them for heaven's sake. They have kitty cat ears. They are symbolic. They are unifying. They are recognizable. Now, hopefully, you and all the others who misinterpreted them will "get" it.

gsdoss - Back in the sixties? It is clearly acknowledged that all the anti-war demonstrations and marches went a long way to bring an end to the Vietnam war. We have Freedom of Speech in this country (at least as of today we still do) and there's no shame in exercising that freedom.

dwiley11 - "they look like people w/out morals".
And YOU sound like a person without a thinking brain.
What hogwash you spout.
-
They were protesting about WOMEN RIGHTS!!
-
I'm just here to see if a flame war is started and the forum police have to chime in. Hahah.
-
I don't know what womens rights Trump took away from women. :o

Umm... I don't know where you're getting that we want to ____ anything that moves. I mean, you literally have a president who in an interview said that around women he "can't help [himself]" and he just "start(s) kissing them." I think he more than anyone would like to ____ anything that moves. It's not about women being able to be careless and reckless sexually and be able to terminate pregnancies when it's convenient for them. It's about when birth control fails, or they are RAPED by MEN, they would like to have that option available to them.

I agree so silly

What message is it sending to our children that we elected a president to run our country who has zero respect, care, or concern for anyone of a different religion, a different race, a different gender, or a different sexuality? There has been SO much criticism over a march that hundreds of thousands of women (and plenty of men, too) took part in, completing diverting the attention away from a man who is going to run the country into the ground. (Not to mention around the globe, in total, there were MILLIONS who took part in similar marches.)

Abortions. They are afraid they will take them away. Only Pro-Choice feminists groups were allowed to participate.

That's just your opinion. A lot country doesn't view Trump that same way and view most of these fears as irrational.
