you have to sign up with them. They have various suits and you can get a check. One is for milk there have been lawsuits for razor blades yogurt. Most just ask if you have bought these products. I've gotten 3 checks one for red bull that i know ibought for my son. People usually bring these up when co. claims about the products are questioned.

You should not just randomly sign up for them. If you did not actually purchase the product you should not lie and say you did in order to get a couple of dollars.
-
I always thought the amount you recieved was in pennies because of all the folks involved
-
i too got the red bull check it was only 2 dollars --i have bought so many of them-- i have since stopped buying red bull -- everything today is involved in some kind of law suit it is crazy
-
I also got the red bull one and signed up for it because we did buy it (no longer). I get a newsletter every couple of weeks about current class action law suits but I only sign up for the ones when I've made purchases. I like the newsletter because I never would have known about the suits. I've gotten several checks most under $10.00.

Not always. Sometimes it is a couple of dollars and sometimes it can be quite a bit more. I don't think you should join every one that comes along even if you have never purchased the products. The fewer people who sign up the bigger the pay out. But sometimes there is still a cap and any extra is donated to a predetermined charity.

It is called: Product Liability. Hurt by any of these products, get compensated.

I know a friend got a couple hundred dollar from a class action lawsuit against.... XXX. I won't say who because I don't know the details. But, anyway, she was surprised by the amount.

For class action lawsuit regarding a consumer product, you usually need to have proof for it like a receipt? Not too sure.. For class action lawsuit regarding a service or account manipulation, they usually send a mail to you (since the lawyers have access to account info tht is affected). Happened two time with my father. Not sure if he joined.. Looked at the settlement and it didn't really look like the pay would be worth the trouble. If settled, the max is limited to a certain number and depending on the number of applicants it would determine the payout. Also there is a service charge for the lawyer and such. The person who actually filed the lawsuit gets a thousand more than other people in the case.

I haven't received any checks for any of the class action suits although I did submit a few claims. Oh well, maybe someday I will get a check for a few dollars. There are so many oof them,I think there might be some kind of website telling about some of them.I think only some of them require you to submit a receipt as proof of purchasse but there are others that just ask if you purchased the product during a certain time frame.

I've gotten a few payments from some of them usually the checks aren't much I think the most I got was around $60 but most have been around $25. I got an email a few months ago for Wen Hair products I think that check will be about $25.

I got a check for $12.00 once from one of these for tuna and I had purchased it.

I got a check from Nutella's class action law suit...I think it was less than a dollar :x
It was due to their "part of a healthy breakfast" claim in their ads.

I think a lot of these are just bogus, the lawyers are the ones who make the money off of them. and the regular people who file with them get pennies. For the most part unless something bad did happen too me i would not file, i would get a lawyer to take care of it for me, not some shyster, who you don't even know.

But that is the whole point of most class actions - they aren't financially worth it for an individual to file - the cost of getting a recovery FAR outweighs what they individually stand to recover. But when so many people are negatively impacted in the same way by a company's wrongful actions or representations, should the company benefit financially? Absolutely Not!
They should be held accountable and there is quite a bit of work that goes into filing and pursuing a class action to completion. You may not know the lawyers personally, but I promise you that in most cases, they ARE earning the fee that they get for pursuing the class action.
