I don't know how true this is but I was told a long time ago that you should vacuum first and then dust.  This was because the vacuum could stir up dust.  So dusting afterward will take care of it all.   ???

Anyway, when I'm working by myself, this is how I do it but I'm sure to be careful not to drop the dust on my clean floor.    :silly:

My better plan 'B' is to have my husband tag team with me so we get everything done at once.  ;)

I've heard the same as betlynjua, technically you should vacuum first then dust but I've always dusted first.   I do like betlynjua's idea of tag teaming my husband.  Maybe we can do both at the same time.   :)

Well I vacuum a lot more frequently than I dust but generally if I do dust I do that first then vacuum up anything that fell in the process

I'd dust and then vacuum. I feel like the vacuum would clean up the dust that you stirred up by dusting

When you clean do you dust then vacuum or do you vacuum then dust?

What is dusting?  lol

I vacuum but don't dust.  Hardly ever.

I dust first, then vacuum because any dust that falls will get vacuumed up.

Hubby vacuums and i dust,  But i am so fed up with this carpet, it is old and  things are starting to heat up , because i want it ripped up and tile  or something put down, because i can  dust every dang day and turn around and there is more and it is because of the old carpet.  He just does not seem to understand or listens that it is bad for my health.  Oh boy one of these days  it is going to change.

When I remember, I dust then I vacuum. Most of the time I forget the dusting part. The amount of dust and hair has gone down quite a bit since one of our dogs passed last month.

I vacuum everyday.  Dusting is more sporadic, but if I'm doing both in the same day, I dust first.

I used to be so scheduled and do my cleaning on Saturday mornings.  Now it happens whenever I get to it after the work day or even before the day starts.  Anymore, I am just happy to get the house dusted once in awhile.  Vacuuming gets done several times a week.

I have back issues also. Sciatic nerve is pinched.

I let things go a bit, since I live alone.  I do either that I have a fancy to attack.

Thanks for the reminder that vacuuming kicks up the dust, and I will change the order I do it in.

Have company tomorrow.

I usually dust then vacuum.  Not sure if this is the correct procedure to follow, but it has always worked for me, especially when I clean the ceiling fan.

I dust first because the dust from what I clean usually lands on the floor.  If I use wipes or a swiffer duster most of it gets picked up but some will always fall to the floor.  Some things, like blinds I need to clean with the vacuum.  But I always dust first and then vacuum.

I always dust then vacuum.  My thoughts is the dust falls on the floor so that is why I do it that way.
