Title: Anti-Valentines Day?
Post by: sherryinutah on February 15, 2017, 12:52:21 pm
For a percentage of people - Valentine's Day is all about romance and appreciating your special someone.

Some people choose to celebrate anti-Valentine's Day, instead.  I've seen heart shaped cookies with the following words on them:

Love sucks
Bite me
It's not Me, it's U

There are plenty of others.  Have you seen any that you find humorous?

How did you spend your Valentine's Day?

I wasn't feeling great so it was me and my cat all day long and I don't think she knew we were supposed to celebrate something.  She did; however, climb up and let me "rock her" in the rocking chair for a few minutes.

I had a lovely valentines day. I couldn't spend it with my valentine because I was at work all day and then had to go to night class- but lovely none the less!

I get so upset when people diss on Valentine's day :/ It's a great holiday! Love is all around you, not just romantic love!

I know that Valentine's Day is quite commercial, but it also makes people happy. I work in a floral department and I just have so much fun helping guys get their flowers for their best gal. :) No, I never yet have helped a gal get a guy flowers for Valentine's Day. Tradition? :male:

Anyway, I hear the neatest stories. And the young guys are adorable and so serious about getting just the right thing for their best girl.

So if you don't have someone, I suppose you could enjoy maligning the day, but that's being a poor sport in my opinion. After all, you might find someone and want to be a part of it later.

Valentines Day was my wedding anniversary...bad choice.

However, I have 4 amazing grand-kids, and a great-grandson.

They get valentines reminding them gram loves them, and a little present inside

So, it is still a day to celebrate love, just different kind of love....gramma's.

We spent Valentines day working at a charity, giving  out food, clothing and household to those less fortunate. thought it was a great day.  received a lot of happy valentine wishes and hugs.  To me that was very special.  Without this  charity where we work a lot of people would not make it from paycheck to paycheck as  a lot of the businesses and stores only hire part time.
