Title: Any writers on this site?
Post by: annadote on February 17, 2017, 12:21:25 pm
I am a writer. I love creative writing the best, especially flash and short form fiction. Is anyone else a writer on this website? If so what are your favorite genres to write?

I write poems.
I make greeting cards and write the verses.

I write short stories, poems and working on a novel.  I mainly deal with sword and sorcery fantasy.  I've had my poems published and few short stories.

I'm currently working on a number of short stories, mostly period detective fiction (1950s revolving around a particular detective) with a few Hitchcockian "wrong person" tales thrown in. Also working on the plot to a novel. Hoping to get something "out there" and published this year!

:)  I love to write...but it is creative practical writing. Real facts...no fantasies.

No, I'm not a writer. However I used to love writing as a child.

I'm a poet, and I've been published in small print literary journals all over the world. I have won a lot of contests, but of course, when you really need the money, you don't win. One year, I won over $1,000 in contest money. So, I am proud of that.

I specialize in asian forms such as tanka and haiku, but I write freestyle and other forms.

I was accepted by a small publishing house to publish my first book, but I did not like the way it was going, so since it was an informal arrangement, I cancelled it.

I am going to do it on my own. This way, I get to have it exactly the way I want it. I will probably list it on Create Space or Lulu.

I thought it was so important for my first book of poetry to be backed by a publishing house, but in the end, I learned something about myself that I actually did not know.

I would rather have a book I did myself than a book backed by a publishing house where I had to compromise one too many times, and I got no joy from the process or the end result.

So, I'm just an old broken down poet . . . with a dog and some cats.

Lulu is one of the routes I'll be headed when I have the start-up money. :)

It's nice to know there's so many other writers on here! I still love writing, but do it less than I did as a teenager. I've written many things (poems, short stories, rough drafts of YA novels) but haven't put leg work into trying to be published in years. I'd like to change that, though, this year! :)

Hello! :) :D

Yes I'm a writer! I love to write about just about everything. My favorite genre to write about is romance. I just love a good romantic story, the tear jerkers are the best. I trully love the freedom writing really gives me. You can be anything you want with just a swept of your pen, this is awesomeness at its finest.

I enjoy writing copy for web pages and reports to encourage people to become my referrals and help them earn more so they keep earning me more too.

I enjoy writing poems, although I haven't written any in quite a while.   :star: :star: :star: :star:

I've always enjoyed writing and have a few blogs devoted to a couple of different forms.  One has a religious and spiritual focus called No Coincidences; another is devoted to my daughter (Words of Wisdom) and some of the funny quotes she uttered during her first 10 years of life (so I suppose she is the actual writer of that blog when you really get down to it); a third is a collection of some letters I have written to different companies over the years attempting to be humorous and sarcastic = Rusty Letters. I've made a few inquiries and efforts to get two of those blogs published, but it never led to anything, so I put them online instead.

No but I did do something to remember my mom who died in 1988, I written this letter to her, about 5 years ago, I still don't know if i should have it seen by someone to publish it for all who have lost their Moms.
