Neutrogena Norwegian Formula Hand Cream might work for you.  If your hands are that sore, cracked and dry, you need something heavy duty.  The Neutrogena's pretty good.  Then there's O'Keeffe's Working Hands Hand Cream.  It's made for hands that are dry, cracked, or split.

I've heard of some people using coconut oil as a body moisturizer. If your hands are really cracked that might be the way to go. Some other options are Vaseline or cold cream. I've tried both of those and they work really well.

I have used gold bond. My dermatologist recommends Vaseline.
Also coconut oil works great. I start using it on my dog's skin and after rubbing it on him, I noticed my hands felt great!

You maybe should go to the doctors and ask for a kidney test many doctors really don't have specialized tests, they are starting too, but you look into your own kidneys, your skin will change.

Use either Curel or Eucerin lotion for dry skin.

I use Cera Ve. My doctor told me to use it a while ago and it seems to help. You just have to just keep putting it on.

Whatever you do use, put some on before bed and wear thin cotton gloves while sleeping - helps your hands to absorb the cream or oil better.  Can buy some at the pharmacy.

Neutrogena Norwegian Formula Hand Cream is the one my dermatologist recommended for me too.  I had psoriasis on my hand so my skin was dry and cracked.

Also remember to lotion your hands after you wash the dishes, those detergents are really harsh on the skin.

All skin is different so what cures some dry skin may not work for everyone.  I also suffer with dry skin. and I personally use St. Ives since it's not greasy.  What I do is read the label and look for what provides the most moisture for dry skin.  Even the hand soap I use to clean my hands, I make sure it's got moisturizer included.  Off hand, I know the best rated brands for dry skin are O'keefe's working hands cream, L'Occitane Shea Butter Ultra Rich body cream, Ahava Deadsea Water Mineral Hand Cream, Gold Bond Ultimate Healing Aloe Skin Therapy Lotion and Medine Remedy Olivamine Skin Repair Cream.

I also would like to add that probably anything marked "body butter" would be really good for your hands. That tends to be a thicker consistency with more moisturizing ingredients. When I have extra $ I like Burt's Bees Almond and  Milk hand cream.
