Have you ever received a phone call from a lady that seems like a recording, she was kinda laughing pretending that she cannot hear me at first because she was fixing her headset. I's kinda strange to me because every time she called, it's always the same laugh and she's always fixing her headset. Odd.
-
Laugh back at her. ;)
-
Yes i used to they sound like real people. When she or he said can you hear me i knew it was phony. When she asked the kind of job i wanted to look at .I said learn how to sell crack. I hope they heard that. Don't get the calls any more.
-
I recently read an article warning about that phone call. It stated that when the woman asks if you can hear her, the people generating the phone call want you to say "Yes" so they can record it and possibly use your voice for unauthorized phone purchases. So if you do get any odd phone calls, it's best to just hang up.
-
I never pick those unknown numbers. >:(
-
That is strange. I would just hang up on her. I have gotten to where I only answer to phone numbers I know. Too many telemarketing calls.
-
I would ask what is up with all of the laughing every time she calls your number, I would block the number.
-
At this point I'd definitely avoid calls I don't recognize. I'm so into that, I recently didn't answer my Insurance company because I didn't know the number. Thankfully, a text was sent and I called them back. I don't have time for those annoying calls. :bad:
-
I just had a call like that recently. I hung up on her.
-
Sounds creepy and weird. I have not received that type of phone call before and i hope i wold not. I probably ill end p with sleepless nights if I get that strange call
-
No, that definitely sounds creepy. I would probably just hang up if I got that call.
-
I've been lucky on this type of call so far.I haven't had one yet. There have been two articles in my local newspaper in the last 3 weeks about this "can you hear me" scam. When I get phone calls anymore,I check the caller ID first. If I don't recognize the number,I don't answer.
-
OMG! Yes, I keep getting this call. At first, I tried to say "not interested" because I used to work as a supervisor in marketing so I generally do not like to hang up in someone's ear. But when I realized that it was a recording, I promptly hung up.
Wow, they must be calling millions of people . . . :)
-
I hate robo calls they have gone from a nuisance to a problem. I do not answer if I do not know the number. If it is important they.
-
No, and if I did I would hang up right away because you never know these days.
-
That's strange... I would immediately hang up, I hate automated calls that are just trying to sell you something :-X
-
I have been getting constant phone calls that I ignore and they go to voice mail. You can hear talking in the background, but nobody says anything.
-
I think those calls are scams.
-
I never respond to phone numbers I do not know. My friends and family know my number, and my phone shows me their names.
They might be checking to validate someone will answer, and then give that number to a con game.
Sounds creepy.
:rose:
-
I have just quit responding to to the calls. just ignore them and maybe they will think i won't answer. so many are just scams or they want something i am not willing to give. It seems to be getting worse every year. also so many of the people do not sound American and i really don't want any thing to do with them, who knows how high your phone bill would be,
-
I don't answer numbers I don't know. They can leave a message if it's important.
-
I just got the exact call the other day, frustrating
-
It's a good thing there is caller ID.
the most obscure name I saw on my caller ID was "name unavailable".
I don't pick up if I don't recognize the name or number.
There have been a couple times when people who knew me were calling.
I found out after they left a message.
The cell phone numbers are hard to recognize sometimes.
-
Just don't answer any calls you don't know
-
I'll always answer calls like that in a thick accent. They usually hang up in seconds.
-
nope i havent gotten those calls i hate the scam calls from irs people saying you owe taxes
-
strange I have never gotten one of those calls, I too only answer calls I know. I am getting so many calls from out of state, being I only know people in 2 states I know I dont know these people
-
I got a few of those from Jack and some from Bob. They always asked if I could hear them. After the first call from each of them, I just hung up. It's horrible when you have to check your caller ID before before picking up the phone. I no longer answer any calls.
I also hated it when I would answer and the caller would act like they were your best friends you haven't heard from in years. Funny...didn't know they had phones in heaven 'cause that's were all my friends are now...the last one died yesterday. :'(
-
100% always a scam. I just block the number on my phone but its still a hastle because they can leave a voicemail. Then you have to deal with that.
-
I always block this kind of phone calls but it seems like they never out of new numbers. Pesky callers.
-
tell you can't hear becouse you have too a just your heat seat too
-
Sounds weird.
-
I hang up or do not even answer if I don't recognize the number. There seems like a new scam going on every day.
-
I usually don't pick up my phone if I don't recognize the number. It's ridiculous how many junk calls I get. I really wish it would stop or become illegal or something :/
-
Wow, I thought I was the only one that got a phone call of a woman laughing! At first I thought it was a wrong number, that perhaps she was drunk and mis-dialed, but when she called again on another day at a different hour I could only assume she was a telemarketer. I never stay on the line long enough to find out. I don't like telemarketers or scammers but that is the worst. I just think it is so unprofessional to start off as soon as someone says hello by laughing. Is she laughing because she thinks it's funny she can sucker you into whatever junk she's selling? I don't know and I really don't care. I just hang up and forget about her.
-
I don't answer the phone if I don't recognize the number. There's too much scamming going on.
-
I get those calls all the time there all bogus telemarketing scammers
-
If they are not going to say anything and only makes strange noises I would just hang up.
-

Not really odd. Just reality. They all use cheap head sets that constantly need adjusting. They are trained to be extra perky. If a phone number did not show up I would not answer. What does she say when you talk to her?
-
I have never had tha phone call before.
-
I'd block them out! Too many crazies out there!
-
Yeah and? So what did she say to you, I think you are missing something ??? Maybe you should adjust your headset before you post something :D 8)
-
I do not answer the phone if i don't know the number.
-
i hate spam phone calls!!!!!!!!!!
-

Well, there shouldn't be any phone number or online blockers anywhere. Just because you block someone via a phone number or online account does not necessarily mean you will get rid of that person.
-
No because I screen calls. If I don't know who it is, I don't answer just let it go to voicemail. If they call twice without leaving a message, I block the call.
-
I never pick those unknown numbers. >:(
Thank you for the heads up. I usually don't pick up for numbers I don't recognize but it's good to know it is a scam call just in case I do happen to pick up.
-
Cant seem to block them anymore as they use a multitude of numbers!
-
That is strange. Maybe you can have your phone company block the number?

My first thought was an unprepared telemarketer, but after reading the other comments I think it's best to not interact with these kind of calls past "hello".
-
I have received phone calls from these people claiming that there is a problem with my internet. The one day there was and I messed around with them for a few hours before I found out it was a scam. I was really mad.
