Are you thinking of a vacation in 2017? Where are you thinking of going? Have you started to plan yet? I am not sure if I'm going in 2017, but I really want to go down the Mississippi on a steamboat, ending up in New Orleans. I hope to do that before I am too old to enjoy it.

I'm dreaming of a vacation in my head for 2017. I have so much planned this year in progressing my own business that the 2 weeks paid vacation I get from my employer will be nothing more than relaxed efforts on putting more of the website together. A bummer because I just saw an ad on facebook for animal kingdoms new show/ride? Thing. Oh well. Maybe 2018 or 19

no plan yet >:(

I am the only one that asks, can we save some money to go somewhere. I never had a partner to do this. All of the vacation were lets go. Road trips which I love the most. I plan going on road trips with restaurants and sightseeing, sometimes I go all by myself.
-
I had a sister and her friend that she lived they always went to the gambling on the Mississippi boat, but she died last year, this month on the 23rd will be a year, she was a year younger than myself. :'(

Yes, one of my cousins is having a destination wedding in Mexico, so I saved to attend; anything else will be visting family and friends in other states.

Money!Money!Money! Vacation now screams money. Everyone loves to go vacation, have a time to themselves but sometimes you gotta think about money. I do not wanna go on vacation and start thinking about I am gonna pay the bills on my "so-called vacation". To everyone going on one, wish you a happy vacation and please make sure you cut your coat according to your size.

I am going to treat every day like a vacation. It only means I will try to make all the things I do regularly more pleasurable. And try to make things easier for everything around reducing my own stress. I do not enjoy doing housework because it is so routine & tedious & time consuming but if I view it as exercise then I feel good about it. And the more I do, the less time I will commit to it as time goes on. :-X

Yes, I am going to myrtle beach in June to take may family. Should be so much fun
-
We go on several a year, but the big one this year is Vancouver, BC Canada in August for the three day International Fireworks Competition. Of course the rest of the week will be for sightseeing.
-
Every year in August we go to Guadalajara Mexico for a church convention. It more a spiritual vacation.
-
No, I havent had a vacation in 25 years
Every place I would want to go, I cant afford
-
Wow, it was very interesting to read about everyone's thoughts, plans, and circumstances. I hope people will keep on posting as plans get firmed up, changed, or you get back from either a fabulous or disappointing trip. I would like to hear-either way. Most of my vacays have been pretty good, but not all have been great!
-
I just took a study abroad trip through my college to Germany, Austria and Italy. That will be my only real vacation for a while, but I really want to travel more.
-
I was planning on retiring this year but have changed my mind and going to try to work 2 more years. I want to take a cruise but guess now will wait till I am able to retire. Hope everyone has a good day and may God bless each of you and keep you safe. :)
-
I am very excited because I will be going hiking/camping with my partner. I haven't done it in forever and I cannot wait!!! ;D In the summer I will go to Spain I think, which should also be very nice.
-
Since I worked part-time the past year, I don’t plan on traveling this year. Need to save up money first to set a budget. A friend of mine is planning to take a vacation to China for her 2 month break.
-
I live in such a beautiful place it's like being on Vacation 365 days a year! It's so pretty here it is like living in a post card, and since I got hurt I've been on a long vacation from work. If I was to go I'd want to head up to Lake Superiors North Shore and go fishing on the Big lake. :) number 30 for me :)
-
Already took a cruise the first week in January. We making plans to go to NY in a few months and there will probably be one more trip before the year is out.
-
as of now no plans other than go to a few places close to me for obstacle course races
-
Yes, to Disneyland in August!!!! I should be settled in my new home by then and it's the perfect getaway before I restart school. I can't wait ;D

If you can breathe you're not too old to enjoy it. Good luck on your plans :-)

A weekend at a Nascar track or dirt track.
-
Nope, haven't hit that jackpot yet.
-
We have an annual family vacation at a lake resort. We're also planning to go to Alaska this year and maybe to a NASCAR race somewhere interesting.
-
My girlfriend and I have one all planned out. I can't wait to the summer so we can get going with it. :)
-
Same place I always want to go: disneyland. If I can get the money together, that is. I hear they raised prices.
-
I am going to New York in May around my birthday and seeing some Broadway shows. I'm really looking forward to that!!!
-
I was wanting to go on a cruise this year after I retired. Now I have decided to work 2 more years so I could have more money saved up. Hope everyone have a good day and may God bless each of you and keep you safe.
-
just a short one to arizona about 3 or 4 days but still a vacation.
-
No plans as yet
-
Not yet, but I enjoy vacations!

We are planning a vacation to Kentucky to see Loretta Lynns Home that she grew up in. It's in a Hollar in Kentucky so this is going to be an interesting vacation. I also heard that her brother is the one that does the tour. And also that before you get to the home there is a mine where her daddy worked in that we can see. I am so excited for this vacation. I love Loretta Lynn. :in-love:
-
Would love to go to Canada, hubby can't make up his mind. I might have to make it up for him, lol!
-
I am retired and my daughter told me she and her husband will be taking me on vacation somewhere this year. It is going to be a surprise for me where they select to go. I don't really want to go to South or Central America because of the Zika virus and I am also wary of going to Europe because of terrorism there. But maybe we will go to someplace in Canada or the U.S. National Parks in both countries would be a lot of fun.

You might want to check out July 29, August 02 or August 05 in Vancouver BC for the Honda International Festival of Lights if you like fireworks.

Probably not with my income. I wish I was. If we are, probably somewhere cheap and only for a day. So probably a beach day, not a vacation.
-
as much as I'd love to we can't afford a vacation. the closest we get is a day trip drive down to myrtle beach sc. we spent the day walking the beach, then drove home. sucks but bills have to be paid before anything else.
-
I wish. :(
-
no plans for 2017 vacaation
-
I haven't been on a vacation in years. It takes money to get away and I don't have enough in my budget.
-
Have not planned a vacation for this year. Probably just do day trips around the area. Leave near Chicago and there many things we have never seen.
-
No vacation for me. I really don't believe in taking time off to go to places. Such a bad use of time and money.
-
I am going to Florida at the end of May to visit my mother and to attend my brother's high school graduation ceremony but that's the only vacation I'm going on this year :)
-
Yes, I am planning on going to Iceland with my daughter and her husband this year. I can't wait - it is supposed to
have spectacular natural beauty and lots of stuff to do there.
-
If I get to retire this year I want to go on a cruise sometime soon. I have always wanted to go. Hope everyone has a good day and may God bless each of you and keep you safe. :)
-
Oh,yes! In October in Europe.
-
Yes, I have plans already. Early traveling is the best to avoid
unwanted crowds.
-

I have one trip planned for a four day concert and three trips planned to visit my parents in Arizona. They are getting on in years and their health and mental acuity are beginning to dwindle. They rarely get out of their house with most of their time spent watching our biased media. I will be visiting them this month and want to begin dropping hints related to moving into a senior complex near us in Colorado, having a nurse come to visit them once every other day or so, or having them move in with us. We have enough room to convert a room on our first floor into a bedroom and another into a full bath. Additionally our youngest will be moving out in August as he will be going to an out of state college. Our oldest has an internship out of state and then heads to a house in college (forty minutes away).

That sounds like the best idea for financial and emotional security for your parents (if they will accept it). We are currently looking for a suitable home large enough for us and our youngest son's family for many of the same reasons. A couple of weeks ago I had to have the Ambulance take me to the ER and be admitted to the Hospital because I couldn't get up off the floor. I am OK now, but it is an indication that it may be time for a change.

Not really; it's necessary to unwind your mind every once in a while to maintain mental health. Also, traveling gives you experiences you can look back on one day.

In my opinion, that is only true if you don't have enough time or money to travel without worrying what else you should be paying or spending time on. Thanks to the Internet, it is quite possible to have free money for more travel during retirement, when there is amble time at hand.
-
I think your travel plan is a great idea but this year I will be going to Iceland with my daughter and her husband. They are taking me along on their annual vacation as a birthday present to me. Some birthday present, huh? I can't wait!
-
I am planning on going on a family cruise to the Bahamas towards the end of the year. I am planning on making our reservations soon. Wish I could go somewhere for the summer too.
-
I agree.

We just got back from a 2 week trip out west. It was nice. Weather was great. Now, no more vacations until I go back to Hawaii in 2018 ~ unless I win a trip, that is...
-
Money is tight for me at the moment, so unfortunately no 2017 vacation on my end. However, I would like to embark on a well-deserved road trip with the family. Possibly to Disneyland or somewhere in Texas (e.g., Austin or Houston).
-
Not this year Hopefully in next year.
-
No but my family are going back to their home town to visit and stuff.
-
Nope too expensive.
-
We are going to Panana City Brach Florida on April 20. We will probably spend most of our time lying on the beach getting a tan. :)
