When I was young I had a chronic problem with mono. It was misdiagnosed as tonsillitis. The truth is that I was a carrier of the Epstein-Barr virus and when the virus is active - it's mono.
The virus led to an autoimmune disorder called Hashimoto's. I'm currently managing that health issue with prescription medication; however, I still use anti-viral herbs to help my immune system keep the virus in a dormant state.
I take most of my herbs in capsule form; however, if I have a sore throat I'll drink the herb in a tea form.
Some of my favorite herbs are:
Thyme
Yarrow
Cayenne
Astragalus
Red Raspberry leaves
Garlic is also anti-viral; however, I think of garlic as food.
Which herbs do you use and why?

I use garlic in plenty of things and also take it in pill form. Recently I have started using more herbs and trying to eat healthier.

I used ginger when i have a soar throat. I boiled water with smashed ginger. Its really food and makes belly small.

Most of the time it's just a multivitamin. I did get a liver supplement because of a birth defect I get a lot of headaches which means tylenol. So its got milk thistle, dandelion, and yellow dock. Feel like it helps. I use that in addtion to drinking lemon water to help my liver out.

Garlic is good, and my family uses oregano oil for all sorts of ills. It's powerful so you only need a drop in a glass of water, it smells awful but will help a sore throat, cold, etc.

Cinnamon, Cumin, dandelion, horsetail, black cohosh, wild yam, fenugreek, some others are good for circulation with duel purpose of immune/pain/beauty to specific areas to your body, REMEMBER, they are hard on your kidneys.

GSE for me (grapefruit seed extract) and oil of oregano.
I get a lot of sinus related stuff, and they help a lot.

I'll have to try that. I have chronic sinus problems. I'm sure they contribute to the headaches.

I don't outside of boiling ginger and drinking it for a sore throat. May have to start taking tumeric though: my knees aren't as solid as they used to be.

I been trying some herbals for my type 2 diabetes such as magnesium, ginseng, garlic, turmeric, cinnamon. I just started with some of these so I hope it helps with my glucose levels.
-
Right now I'm taking turmeric and vitex. I just ordered some coconut oil for my thyroid issues.

Cayenne and Thyme are the herbs I use. I am more into essential oils but am working up to getting more herbs.

Cinnamon, Tumeric, Ginger, for pain issues. White Willow Bark (replaced my ibuprophen). Also a
Homeopathy blend for fibromyalgia. Lots of herbal teas for various issues. Big fan of natural remedies! (Also have GSE for pets, they take tumeric. One cat is also currently taking milk thistle & super Bio-Curcumin for a month.)
