Title: Thanks?
Post by: Crashed on March 10, 2017, 06:45:07 am
I see under peoples profile "thanked (x) times...
How does that work? and How do I "thank" someone for their help?
I don't see a button or..???

There is a 'say thanks' tab on the left hand side of the member's name.  The tab is in brackets and it is on the very bottom of the member's username.

For example, I'm looking at your post and I see, on the left hand side, your name, Crashed, then under that, Newbie, then one yellow box, the number of posts you've made, thanked ( this is how many times you personally have been thanked ) and finally the 'say thanks' tab. It's a live tab/link so all you have to do is give it one click and you're done; you've thanked the member.

Newer members don't have full access to the forum so your ability to thank will come later along with your ability to post unlimited postings per day

There's no real benefit. Someone recommended it and the site liked it enough to implement it. It's suppose to be that people with more thanks are seen as more helpful and knowledgeable

I just think it is a nice thing and polite to say for info that benefits...

I agree.  It doesn't cost anything to be nice and everyone should feel good about it afterwards.  Kindness goes a very long way.

It is a nice thing to be able to do.  It is good these posts show up so people will find out about it.  Seems to be something people do not notice.

You have to get past the "newbie" stage in your posting before you're able to thank someone.  After a few more posts you will be there.

You can say thanks to someone that has answered a question you posted and so on.
