Here is a new one. I was doing a survey for a different site last night. I swear I had spent close to 40 minutes doing a survey that paid around a dollar. Then one of the last questions tells me they need to access my webcam to do like 3 more questions. And tells me how to make sure I am centered in the camera and make sure the laptop is sturdy. Blah Blah Blah. I went on but when the pop up for the camera came up I denied access. Not sure if the payment will stay or be denied later. I did have the opportunity to give comments before the final submit. I told them that if they were going to need to access the webcam they need to tell people that upfront. Not wait until the last question then spring that on people and then deny payment if they do not comply. NO BODY accesses my webcam.
So far my payment is still in my account. And this is the only site I am a member of where they can later take your money earned back away from you. >:(

I wish surveys would explain in detail if they need extra from us when we do the surveys. I don't think it is fair for the credits to be revoked after it has been in our account either. I understand people probably do rush through them or answer with silly statements but those people should be banned from the site period. Good luck!
-
I love those surveys. They are quick, easy and usually pay well. 40 minutes seems like a lot of time, but you only had to answer three questions on your webcam. That sounds like a good deal.
On the other hand, I understand why some surveys revoke, but I agree with amyDAST, they should explain to us EXACTLY what they are looking for so that there isn't any confusion.
-
That has only happened to me once to.

Yeah if you put stuff like "fiadfhaha" for an answer. There are times when you ask a question in a different way when you can get a different answer. Another that ticks me off is the last question that asks for your street address. I don't think they should be able to "reject" your answers when basically they are saying you did not give the answers they wanted. OR when you spend an hour doing a survey and then finish and it says "oh sorry your profile did not match the what ever to take this survey". Well then why was I allowed to take and finish it? I don't fool with the surveys on this site as much because of not qualifying or getting revoked.

My point is you should tell me at the start if you want me to answer questions on a webcam. I do not know how may questions it was. I told them NO. I am not doing surveys on a webcam. And if you have never done a survey that takes 40 minutes or longer I am surprised. I do them all the time. Or use to. haha

Did you let it access the webcam and answer the questions? They do not need my picture for an anonymous survey or pictures of the room I am sitting in.
-
I have done a few web cam surveys but I always feel a little weird about them. Hopefully they don't revoke the payment. I agree they should have mentioned it at the start of the survey.
-
I remember having the same survey with the same result except I didn't get credited. I never give anyone access to the webcam. I usually close the survey as soon as they ask to access my webcam
-
Honestly that would make me feel a little weird giving them permission to my camera. Only because I've never heard of a survey doing that until now. If I saw that at the beginning of a survey I wouldn't do it. But to go through the whole survey and then see that would tick me off.
-
Those surveys never seem to work for me, I have quit doing them altogether, just a waste of time.

It was a different site. I did get credit...but it may be taken back away from me. If that happens I will contact support because that is just not right. Tell me to start with at the end of the survey I want your picture. And I will tell you NO and we can not waste 20 minutes of my time. haha

I have seen several that wanted to video me while I took the survey. The want to "watch my eyes and how I look at the screen". Uhmmmm okay!
-
Not going to be doing those surveys either.
-
I agree I don't want anyone to have access to my computer.
-
I don't do ones that watch me back
-
I don't have a webcam and would have closed that survey pronto 8) The stuff you people encounter amazes me :o 8)
-
What is the name of the survey?
-
I went on that site for the Webcam, and it told me that i had to be centered and not move, but then it just stopped working after a few questions, so i just clicked off of the site. Don't know if i got paid for it also.
-
I used to never do the web cams ... but i do them now! heck i got 5 in a row one day for like 5 min each paid .80 cents i'm past being worried about someone spying I have nothing to spy about, if someones wants to watch a old gray haired over weight woman talk to her dog.. go for it!
-
dang thats a bummer,,,,,, :o
-
I always exit the survey when they want me to use my webcam. Nope.
-
i agree i hate when you spend a long time only to find out you are disqualified and get nothing.
-
That is extremely sketchy. You probably want to lock down everything because it can lead to identity theft.
-
I don't allow them to access my camera .
-
I agree 100% they should tell you up front if they need a webcam, street address, etc, that way you can make the choice if you want to continue with the survey or not. Waiting until the last few questions is frustrating to say the least!
-
do not like using a webcam not for anything
-
I know what you mean and your right. They should be out-front with that and more than likely they will take the money out. good luck.
-
I did them often before my webcam just randomly stopped working. I'll go back to them once I get a new computer with a functioning camera.
I'm not paranoid about allowing access to things. Maybe it has to do with growing up with always using technology
-
I would never give anyone permission to use my webcam because you never know what will show up. A few years back a man wanted to chat with me using my webcam. In the past he chatted with another woman, but she wasn't able to chat with him, so he actually wanted to chat with me per webcam. There are a lot of perverts out there and he had the idiotic idea that I would chat with him per webcam. I asked him if he was out of his mind. So many like him use webcam to appear naked to get their rocks off.

That sucks! Sometimes it happens when taking surveys. I spent quite a bit of time on one the other day only to be told I don't qualify. I gave perspectives I know they will still use.

I have done dozens of surveys that use my web cam; but the difference is that I've always known up front within the first few qualifying screens that I was going to be asked to use my web cam. They have all been quick and easy and paid with no issues. But just because *I* don't have a problem with it doesn't mean that it is for everyone. So I agree with the op's frustration with having that sprung on her that deep into the survey. If it were me, I likely would have gone ahead at that point and granted access. But that's just me.
On a similar note - I hate the surveys that ask me about my kids and then ask if my child is available to take part of the survey. Depending on the survey topic, I don't have a problem with this (provided that I am IN THE ROOM with her and see the questions that they ask) and have let her participate in several surveys. The part that I dislike is when they don't inform you up front that they are going to ask you to do that. I've had to suspend (and lose) quite a few of those because my child was unavailable at the time.

don't have one and will never have one. Don't like the idea that someone can watch what ever I am doing :( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:(
-
I always deny access to my webcam, I have only seen that request a few times but it has always been at the beginning of the survey, which I can appreciate because I have the option upfront as to if I wish to proceed.
-
Person to person much better me than doing any form of camming find it weird and creepy.

Oh yeah. They get your answers and use the ones they want. You answer questions wrong and get kicked out. They don't want answers from every one they want answers to get the results they want. Kind of like the crap spewed on the news this morning that like 59% of the people who voted for Trump would change their vote. Uh how did you come up with that? You did not ask everyone who voted for Trump so there fore your stats are invalid. Or when they say x % of the women in the US feel this way about a certain topic? Well since you did not ask EVERY WOMAN IN THE US then your stats are invalid. And when people answer in a way that will not give you the result you want you disqualify them. And you ask someone else. And you do this until the people answer the way you want them to so you get the results you want.

Yeah, I have seen where they ask the kid questions that they most likely will not know. Like asking a 12 year old the household's total yearly income. Or if there is a gun in the house.

You do surveys person to person? We were leaving the grocery store the other day and some man with an ipad asked if he could ask us a few questions. Nope. And we kept walking.
-
Never use the web cam
-
I've had several of them like that but they've always told me at the beginning of the survey that it would be needed. Usually its when I am watching videos they want to track the reactions. Ive never gotten one that asked at the end to use the webcam.
-
I usually take my surveys on my PC and it does not have a webcam. I usually refuse when they ask me if they can access it. And, if asked mid survey, I just x out as they are going to DQ me anyway.
-
I always keep my webcam covered and only use it for family and friends. I don't want my likeness out there for anybody to use.

If it does not have a webcam then why would they ask to access it? I finished the survey but denied web cam access. As of now they have not revoked my credit.

Nobody can access the cam unless you allow it. People can't just access it and spy on you. I had never used a webcam until about a year ago. And have only used it with one person. Nobody can just access your camera and spy on you. But since this happened I do have a post it over the camera. I done that when I finished the survey even though I said no just in case they some how did. All they would see is darkness.
