Do you ever pull off any good tricks on friends or family? My mom pulled off a great one, saying we had over slept and needed to rush to get ready to go. Running around like crazy only to find a note on the door going out... That reads!! April Fools has come at last all our clocks are a hour fast! Would be hard now days with the cell phone clocks! She also changed the salt and sugar around and she would laugh till she cried!

I sure hear you about that.. she used to make me so blasted mad pulling stuff. And when I lost her to cancer about 10 years ago, life hasn't been the same and I miss all that insanity and goofy stuff so much, I'd give anything to have salt in my coffee just one more time. Funny how we change!

I do not do tricks on people. Done some silly stuff when I was a kid. Some people are really mean with stuff they pull and then laugh it off as a joke. I am glad it is on a Saturday so idiots at work are not trying to pull stuff.

No jokes... but kudos to those people who spend the time & energy pulling jokes off on April Fools, as long as they are safe & not harmful, good luck to all you April Foolers :)

No, I'm not a big fan of practical jokes. I think April Fools Day is pointless.

One year when our youngest was (either 6 or 18 months old - I forget which) and her big sister was 15 or 16, I hatched a plan on April Fools Day to pull a prank as big sis was coming home from work. I had my wife call me into our baby's nursery begging for help when I came in the door from picking up our older girl from work. It seems the little one had an extremely messy diaper that wifey needed me to dispose of directly to the trash and take it out. I grabbed the full diaper and walked back out of the room right to where big sis was standing before burying my face into the full diaper and swallowing a very messy mouthful. It completely grossed out big sis! Of course, my diaper meal was actually a fresh/clean diaper filled with chocolate pudding mixed with crumbled up lemon cookies for texture...
The ironic part was that the little bugger actually DID have an extremely messy diaper at that very moment - so the air was a bit foul, which only enhanced the realism of my joke! She is still mad at me for that one nearly ten years later!

"Why tho therious?" sayeth the Joker! I appreciate your post, am sorry to hear about your mother (and the fun killer responses), and love April Fool's Day! My favorite was that I played on my children when they were in fourth and sixth grade. April first, that year, was very warm so I surprised the kids with two large chocolate shakes from McDonalds. What the kids didn't know was that I put their straws in ketchup packs before sinking them into their drinks. I told them to suck really hard because the shakes were really thick and cold. The look on their faces when they got a mouthful of ketchup was priceless! They have tended to stay away from me on April first ever since that fateful day! They have gotten me back a few times though.

I only do the verbal jokes. I can't help it, I can pray on you that day, it's just in my nature...rules say what says on April fool's day stays on April fool's day ya ya that's no joke you must agree! follow the...

I have a lot of fun memories of my parents pulling April Fool's jokes on me and my siblings when we were kids but now I really don't celebrate it as an adult. Although it is fun to watch people pull pranks on other people :)
-
My mom always had good April Fools day pranks as well. Since it falls on a Saturday this year and that's our "fun" day at work I might do a little something. We all joke and play around with each other everyday anyhow!

April 1st was my grandfathers birthday, that was always full of jokes :)

I can think of fun things all year round but not on April fools day

When it comes to having fun or playing practical jokes at another's expense, it may prove to be beneficial for Christians to remember the principle that Jesus Christ set forth: "Just as you want men to do to you, do the same way to them." (Luke 6:31) The spirit behind April Fools’ Day is exactly opposite to the Christian way of life.

Why do you say that? I love a good prank being played on me if it gives someone else a good laugh.

One year my oldest daughter and her step dad designed a fake ticket.... they put it on my windshield the night before while I was asleep. It had rained and the ink smeared but I could tell what it said. I had indeed parked on the sidewalk... and I was madder than a red hen having to do so because our neighbors were invading our driveway. They let me stew all day and 1/2 the night before telling me... just a joke. Grrrr.

April's Fool's day is really the 15th.... that's when the IRS plays a great big prank on millions of gullible Americans!

I often wonder who decided that April 1st would be a great day for playing tricks on other people. Could it be a FOOL? Not a fan of people making fools of themselves.
-
Happy April Fool's Day
-
I used to. I thought it would no longer be worth it because China no longer allows April Fools Day.
-
Happy April Fools Day, everyone!

Lol, that's a great on by your mom XD
I like little harmless pranks like this and the end result is relief/happiness. I hate ones where people make you think you won something then laugh at you when you found out you didn't win anything >.>
