I'm about sick of rude people who never return phone calls, whats the deal ?? I called someone 3 days ago not a return on the call no text nothing, and I know they are not dead. People are sure strange, I deposit rent money into my landlord account at the bank then send a text saying add the amount to your check book... not even a ok or thanks... nothing :( I've lived here for 6 years and never been late a day most times a month or 2 ahead ! Man you'd think a thanks wouldn't be that tuff even "tks " in a text! Guess it's a sign of the times!!

I know, I hate it when that happens

i totally get it --same with text messages for me --but if you call or text them they think you should reply in seconds ! makes my just a tad bit p od myself !

lol. Your landlord does not have to say thank you for you paying your rent. You owe them the money. Has nothing to do with "a sign of the times". Do you thank him/her every month for allowing you to live on their property and in their house? It is silly to be mad over that. I would not deposit money in to their checking account. I would either give them a check in person or mail them a check. Then you have proof that they received payment. Or give it to them in person and ask for a receipt.
At the same time I have sent several texts or messages in imessage and never received a reply and like you said they are not dead and yeah it ticks me off when it is like they are ignoring you. I can understand you being upset about them not returning your call. But not about you being upset because they did not say thank you because you paid them money you owed to them.

I have the proof of payment from the deposit receipt, and being three months ahead I owe him nothing yet. I get the fact I live here, and don't get me wrong, I know what your saying but I'm the person if something breaks at this house I have it fixed and just go about my business and never bother him. I'm old school and was taught you say thanks for stuff, not matter ?? My point being.... people just are so different these days in general. About manners :glasses-nerdy:

Honestly, some people are just awful when it comes to following up. It's just sad and frustrating.

100% :( :( and it's happening to people who never in my wildest dreams, thought it would !

After a long thought about you saying my landlord need not say thanks (countrygirl12) because I owe him !! Then that means no one has to ever say thanks for a service or a product we get or buy because we then in fact owe for it ! I do not agree ! And the seller or service person need not as well say thanks for the money ! Sounds really sad ! :( :( I'll stick to my thinking

I know how you feel, stuff like that happens to me most of the time real pain to deal with.
-
Don't sweat the small stuff! At least you know you did all you can do to make it right and being polite and responsible doesn't mean the other party will reciprocate. It's unfortunate but that is how some people are and I had to learn the hard way and I just don't pay any mind to their behavior any more. You will notice that they will be nicer to you when you don't pay any attention to them. lol

I have been surprised by people who suddenly change their demeanor.
someone else would tell me that "maybe they are having a bad day."
I recently have been telling myself when I have situations with people I don't understand
" I'll put them in the 'people book.'"

its in peoples nature to be rude, they can't help who they are, they just want to be buttheads.

Reasonable expectations - When you pay rent you have a reasonable expectation that you could receive a receipt or some kind of acknowledgement of your payment.
Unreasonable expectations - In a social situation it's unreasonable to think that someone is obligated to reply or return a call. If you have a "friendship" or "relationship" with someone who doesn't make an effort to return calls you should probably move on and make different friends who are willing to interact and communicate in a healthy way.
Just my point of view.

I understand that and maybe I missed something. I am just saying I do not think the landlord owes the tenant a "thank-you" for paying their rent. I rented for a short period of time and I do not think the people who I rented from ever "thanked" me for paying them the rent. The money I owed them for living on their property.

And that is your right. I also have a right to my opinion as well. I do not agree. It is the same when I go shopping. I go in and purchase items and I don't think the cashier ever says "thank you for buying this stuff". And that is fine. I really don't care. lol

Sadly, rude people are more common than you'd think. I live outside DC. Manners aren't the norm here.

For some people politeness is out of order. Why are they so rude? I ask myself that question?
What happened to old fashioned courtesy?
