I would date someone who isn't working, but has in the past. However, if after awhile it was apparent that he wasn't trying to find a job, I would think about ending the relationship.

Different strokes for different folks. I am more motivated than most of the people that I know or meet. If I had not married the woman of my dreams (also very motivated) I would probably date anybody. If someone lacked motivation the chances of a encore performance would be slim. I am more drawn to character (and beautiful eyes) and someone who does not, or won't work, does not match my profile. I have no problem sharing or picking up the tab on the few occasions that I do go out without my wife but, generally, the same people that I pick up the tab for end up returning the favor without being asked. I had a friend over for the last nine days (too long) who mooched everything he could. My wife invited him (I would not have) and I do not anticipate seeing him for another ten years nless she chooses to make the same mistake.

If I made much more money and felt more financially secure, I would still be game. However, the standard of living where I reside is costly and even if my partner wasn't working at the time, I would hope she can help contribute to alleviate financial burden. Otherwise, it might be kind of a show stopper.

Yeah I WOULD but I think would prefer a girl who works if we were in it from the long run.  ::) I would feel awkward being the only one...

I'd start with friendship, then see how far it goes from there.

It's better for the two incomes to make the load easier on all concerned. If the partner loses their job, I'd wait about up to six months after that it would be very unorthodox.
