Title: Tax information
Post by: alarisracing on July 28, 2017, 12:43:24 pm
Has anyone made over $600.  I have reached that and was wanting your thoughts about sending personal info to identify yourself.  How safe is it and could they verify over the phone?

I did last year and did it online.  Did not have any problems and also did it with another site and no problems there either.  Not sure they will let you do it over the phone because you have to sign the form

Yes, I have. Once I hit the $600 threshold I was unable to cash out again until I sent over my SSN for them to send me a tax form. I believe that was in 2013 or 2014. I doubt you can do it over the phone.

So, if you cashout $600 or more what tax form they make you sign? I mean, I'm only a week old on the site and far from $600, but I'm aiming big here people! haha

If you make over $600 you have to send you a 1099.

I entered my information and it stated that I need to do a fax verification.  I have not seen any information how to complete this portion.  I have sent a ticket for more information.  Anyone have any information to complete the verification process?

You did not have to send a FAX VERIFICATION?  I wonder what the issue is if I submitted the correct information.  Weird.

I did not do the Fax Verification.  I was able to email in.  Good idea  doing the support ticket.  I did the same thing when I reached $600.00.  Wanted to get what ever was needed because you cannot cashout until it is done

Wow, I have never come real close to $600 in a year and I don't think  I will try after reading how complicated it is.

If I remember correctly the instructions popped up when I tried to cash out.  Have you tried to cash out yet?

It's easy they send you all the paperwork in the mail after you sign the release online to do so. Not a hard thing to do

Most people don't have to worry about it, but if you are close to it at the end of the year, don't do your cash out until the new year then you stay under the $600 limit  8)

Gives me an error message stating I need to do a fax verification.  I think I have it straightened out.  I found the fax verification info.

Not here but I had to fill out a W4 form and received a 1099 misc from a survey panel I was a member of for making over $600.

I don't have to worry about that.  I just make over $100 a year on FC.  It gives me a little spending money. :)

It is NOT complicated. However, it will adversely affect your taxes, because you will have to pay taxes on that as income. The year that I claimed I think I had to pay about a third of that $600 in taxes... I wasn't able to roll it over to the next year without losing credits. Although after realizing how much it cost me, that would have been a cheaper way to go.

Ouch, a third? Yea.... then that doesn't necessarily make sense to want to cash out more than $600...

Everything finally a go.  I tried to cashout a week ago it went to final step before submitting, I am just going to cashout at the end of the month.
