We just heard that sad news! I always liked Glen Campbell and his music. He wrote and sang so many good songs. He was really something else on TV too. I loved watching his show. Sad day!

Patti4me,
Yes, it is a sad day indeed. He will certainly be missed. I loved his voice and he was a tremendously talented songwriter as well.

I remember listening to him with my grandmother. Think this was first taste of country music I encountered and still love it.

I grew up with music, mostly country courtesy of my Grandma, God Rest her Soul. She introduced me to Elvis, Hank Williams Sr, Mario Lanza, Conway Twitty, Nat King Cole, Johnny Cash and a lot of other greats, but to this day I remember her A-track blaring Rhinestone Cowboy and how much I really loved hearing it. I have it on digital now but it’s like another part of my heart is ripped out since not only is she gone, but he is now as well. Country Music just isn’t the same without its true legends like Campbell. It remains my of the Dixie Chick song ‘Long Time Gone’. The verse that goes, ‘Now they sound tired but they don’t have Haggard, They got money but they don’t have Cash. They got Junior but they don’t have Hank.’ Yes, Country has its Underwood’s and Bryan’s but they don’t have Campbell. Us true country fans that know what country is really supposed to sound like will miss him dearly.
