a passport filled with stamps than a house filled with material things. This was a saying that was posted at a funeral we went to last Wednesday. My dearest friend's twenty one year old daughter passed away. She was considered a miracle baby as neither parent was thought to have the capability to have children. My friend, and his wife, joined their daughter in France while she did her studies abroad for six months. They then joined their daughter in Spain as she did an internship for six months. They traveled all over Europe. The memories that they had helped them remain strong, and positive, during the services. I would call my friend from time to time to go have dinner or catch a movie and would inevitably get a message saying he was traveling with his daughter. She had stepped on all six out of seven continents (missed Antartica). The predominant message taken from the funeral was to live life to it's fullest as you do not know what tomorrow might bring.

I agree somewhat with you. I have traveled all over Europe and will have those memories until I die. But I also have memories of things in my home. Pictures of my family, things my family and friends bought for me, things my husband built, repaired, changed for me, and memories of good times in my home.

I love to travel. My daughter and I have had many wonderful adventures together. We are planning our first adventure with my new grandson next summer. Hope to introduce him to the island life in Hawaii.
