Way back in the days, I had a fine can opener, not like today if you didn't want to spend a lot of money on it. It was brown electric can opener that sat on my kitchen counter, strong, dependable, with knife sharpener, my hand one was not as strong it hurt my fingers as I cranked. Right now, I have a good non-electric can opener, year ago did get an electric one but it was a joke really now. Don't have many cans to open anymore either, cat food is in a pouch. Soup is the only thing that needs a can opener. Do you keep one in your picnic basket? Happy Can Opener Day! Have a gr8 day, :present:

I have a handheld ... best I've ever had. It's made by Pampered chef. It doesn't cut the can but releases the glue from lid and the can. It reminds me of the Everybody loves Raymond episode when Ray can't figure out how to use the new can opener Debra buys. She get's all emotional and offended over it.

I have a handheld can opener. It is called SWING-AWAY.
-
A hand held and it works great
-
Handheld and so far so good!

I have a hand held. It is made for people who have a hard time gripping, the handles are soft rubber and fits my hand great and it is easy to use. I bought 3 of them one time from Watkins, one for me, one for auntie and one for hubbies mother. they have both since passed away and I kept theirs thinking mine was going to wear out. Hasn't yet but after 15 years I think it will one of these days. I do not really like the electric as the cans come in all sizes and it does not always work, so it is up in the shelf just sitting there. Think I will donate it along with a lot of other useless items that others may want.

I have a regularl, hand held one that cost about 6 dollars.
-
15 electric can opener

I have an electric and a handheld can opener.

I have a handheld can opener.
-
I use a handhold "smooth edge" can opener. I love it, it simply removes the top lid from the rest of the can without cutting. No sharp edges and I can put the lid back on top if I don't use up the whole can.
-
We just have a pain old handheld can opener. It gets the job done though.
-
I have a handheld and an electric can opener.I almost always use the handheld to open cans. The electric has a knife sharpener so that's what I use that one for.
-
I have a old manual one but I am seriously considering getting an electric. It grips fine but some of these new cans just don't want to open. They'll open maybe half way around which just isn't good enough to get anything out.
-
I have an electric can opener and a manual can opener.
-
I have a very old long handled hand held one, a short hand held one, an electric one that is awful to use because it throws some of the paper label into the food, and hubby had bought me one of those battery operated ones that cuts with no sharp edges, which I really liked, but it gave out after a few cans.
I've gone through 5 electric can openers in 10 years. They just don't make them tough anymore but then again, it's like everything else. They don't make stuff to last. They make it to break right after the warranty runs out so you have to buy a replacement.
-
I don't have a can opener just yet, but I would prefer the electric one.
-
I have a can opener ONME :)
-
We've been given electric can openers over the year but I've never had one that worked good for very long so we stick with the manual can openers. Good manual ones are not that easy to find anymore.
-
I have an electric and a manual one to use. However, they don't get used much as it seems most things I purchase do not need one.
-
I have to different ones electric and a manual.
-
I have a black electric can opener that I have had for years and it still works. It goes perfect with all the black appliances in my new house.....I will use it until it won't work any more. I also have two old hand held can openers as well which I keep around for emergencies. Interesting though I have noticed a lot of the cans now have pull tabs and don't require can openers. I wonder if that will eventually put can opener manufacturers out of business????
-
:)I had an electric can opener before it stop working for me, and I had to buy
another can opener. The new can opener is an old fashion one it is green and silver
and you have put it on the can , and turn it around with the two handles.
Sincerely

I have an electric one, that I don't even know how to use (I didn't buy it). I have to get someone else to open it for me everytime. I wish all of these companies would get on board and switch over to the easy to open tab like they have on pet food and fruit cans. They are much more convenient.
-
I have a regular one from WalMart.
-
I have both, hand held and electric.
-
I have an old can opener that has been around for centuries. You have to crank it up to use. I try to buy canned item that you don't have to use a can opener for. It is rare that I use this can opener.
-
I have an electric one that sits under the cabinet but it broke months ago and haven't replaced it. I just use an old school hand held one.
-
A mounted can opener that I can use one handed.
-
Electric can opener and so easy to use.
-
I have a manual for emergencies.
I also have had an electric can opener for ages that grabs the can and just twirls for a second and it's open. I like it a lot. :in-love: It was on sale and I'll bet it was more than ten years ago that I bought it.

Regular cheap handheld deal. Electric isn't a luxury I see the need to shell out for.
-
just a hand held on . no electricty needed.
-
I have the old school hand cranking can opener, no electric one for me
-
i just own a normal hand can opener and nowadays a lot of the cans like soup etc are pop up tops anyway.
-
electric one for me since I'm a leftie.
my husband and daughter use the manual one they are right handed
-
I've got both electric and non electric!
-
We own an electric can opener.
-
i have a bigger hand twist can opener,,,,,, :star:
-
Automatic. I don't even know how to use a handheld one. Lol
-
I have both an electric can opener and a manual one. I can't use the manual one anymore because I just don't have the strength in my hand.
-
They don't last like the old ones did that's for sure.
-
I have an electric can opener that can be used as a charged one also without the cord. Comes in handy for very large cans that i can't hold up to the bottom of the cupboard (where the opener is attached to).
-
Handheld. I cant seem to find a good one anymore.
-
I have a hand held and that's fine as we do not eat a lot of things out of cans so this one works fine in our house; no plans to up grade to an electric one!
-
I have both electric and a handheld can opener.
-
have both...for years...bout time for the electric to go out...had it for over 25 years..
-
I have the old fashion handheld one that are large with a handle and twist.
-
I have a hand held one. The hand held one works just as good as the electric one and you can use the hand held one during a power outage
-
I had a basic generic electric can opener that I love until it died. When my hubby's Nana passed we got her fancy one ... it's terrible. I usually use my good old trusty manual one. Most can's now a days are pop tops so I don't use it very often.
-
I have a hand held, it is what we used when I was a kid. I really never used an electric can opener, I guess if I had to open a hundred cans I would want one but I can't really see the need.
-
Every can opener that I have bought only last a couple of months and then I have to buy another. I think that they make them disposable now. I wish that I could find a real good can opener. >:(
-
I have a good old hand crank !!!
-
I have a non-electric one, bt we barely use it, so i dont mind using it now and then.
-
Obviously hand can opener. I don't understand why you would want an electric can opener.
-
I have a handheld from the Dollar Store and it's lasted a long time. I'd never want an electric one, takes up space.
-
I have a new electric can opener but I ordered me one that is manual and has a hand crank on it. It is good to open big big cans. Hope everyone has a good day and may God bless each of you and keep you safe. :)
-
I have an electric can opener, that the top of the can get's grabbed when it's done spinning the can. I have a non electric can opener for those day's when the power's out, or when you need to get away with a can opener!
-
I have a manual can opener. I don't like using a lot of things that require electricity. I also don't eat a lot of can foods so I don't use my can opener a lot. Maybe 3 to 4 times a month I use it.
-
I have a manual one from Pampered Chef. It starts on TOP of the can, not on the side. It makes it so you don't cut your hand on the rim like might happen with the kind that starts on the side.
-
I have a handheld opener that I got on q v c. I like it because it takes the lid off in a unique way that you don't get any of the lid in contents of the can.
-
I have an electric an a manual one the electric is having a hard time getting really old.
-
I have both an electric one and one where you have to hold with your hand.
-
I have a good old-fashioned manual can opener - that way I can just put it in a drawer when I'm done and it's not on display on my kitchen counter. I probably only use it once a week anyway.
-
I've never been able to use a can opener successfully, except for the on-the-counter kind from the past that you were explaining about. Now that I'm in my 50s, it's even harder for me to use a manual can opener -- don't have enough hand strength! My husband uses our Gizmo-type can opener, but for the life of me, I can't figure that one out! :-[
