What to do for the holidays when you have no family and no children? My husband and I have no family or children. It makes the holidays a lonely time for us. Any suggestions?

If you can afford it take a vacation... Rent Christmas with the Kranks!!! Funny movie but will get you into going some where!!

I treat holidays as just another day so I don't have any big expectations for it or sit around feeling sorry for the things I don't have which I never do anyway. Count your blessings of the things you do have. Don't think of the holidays as some fairy tale greeting card version of how you think things are "supposed" to be. It's just another day. If you really must mark the day in some way start your own kinds of traditions. Volunteer feeding the homeless or visiting sick children in the hospital. Do something for someone else instead of focusing on yourself.
Like the other poster said take an annual holiday vacation. The best time to go places is in early December at least two weeks before Xmas, especially if you want to go somewhere warm. I wend to Cancun a few years ago the beginning of December and only paid $500 for an all inclusive 4-5 night trip with airfare included. Now that was a great Xmas vacation.
