I saw Mel Tillis several times when I was young. He was funny as well as talented. He had a bad stutter when he talked but it wasn't there when he sang.

RIP, I was always so amazed on how he spoke with a stutter but his singing was flawless !!

if so very sad to hear. i never heard of him but I know his daughter Pam Tillis I listened to her. seeing my nickname mentioned in one of her songs Katydid sing like a symphony. was something that was sung to me all the time. I took it as a compliment.

The only time that Mel didn't stutter was when he sang
