Title: In the trunk
Post by: Gerianne on January 05, 2018, 01:35:34 pm
People put all kinds of things in their trunk.
If someone at work needs something, a coworker just might have it in the trunk.

I used to have so much snacks and clothes in the back of the trunk because I was always busy and hardly ever time to stop for food or change of clothes. I would change at one job :)

Don't keep a lot of things in my trunk, I like to keep it neat ;primarily have re-usable grocery bags, brushes to clean snow off in the winter and a  and a sun visor to put over dashboard window in the summer.

In the winter there is always more stuff in our trunks.  Learned the hard way so now we always have a shovel, blanket, extra clothes, empty gas and snacks in the trunk .  We always have our jumper cables, flares, toolbox and emergency road signs in the trunk all year around.

My family keeps "borrowing" things out of my vehicle.  I never know from one day to the next what I have.

We have a hatchback (so there is no trunk) and since everyone can see, it's nice to keep it somewhat cleaned out. My wife does keep a folding bin with grocery bags in it, because they give her a discount (6 cents each) for bringing her own bags to grocery shop with.

Someone said another co-worker - funny but as bad as this world is I don't know how off base it is but anyway I only keep my spare tire in the trunk.  I guess I should look my sons were moving stuff from our old house there is no telling what got left in there.  I can tell you I am relatively sure there aren't any people lol.

The only thing constantly in our trunk is reusable grocery bags, in a collapsible bin in which we also keep a spare umbrella.  Somehow I think my husbands pool cue is in there also.

Many different things have been in my car trunk over the years, everything from groceries to school book bags to athletic equipment and more! What I've got back there at the moment is a dish drainer that I bought from Walmart that's too big for my sink! Now I've got to take it back to exchange it for a smaller one. :-[

Unfortunately I do not have a trunk.  I have an SUV but in the winter time I try to keep some supplies like a blanket, Bottle of water and a snow brush for my car ... just in case.

I have a love-hate situation with the car I have right now.  (Meaning I LOVE that it gets me places but I HATE everything else about it.)  I had the car for 3 1/2 years before I even opened the trunk and the person that had it before me really left it a mess!  All of that is gone.  There's a plastic shovel (for snow), and some "HEET", some spare oil & antifreeze.  A funnel.  I don't even know if there's a spare tire in there... I'll have to remember to check when our snow melts.
You probably have a removable panel in the floor of your trunk with the spare tire underneath it.

I live in an apt.  I garden (veggies etc in the raised beds) at my son's place. He fixed the garden up for me.

I have a lot of garden supplies in my trunk, that I have no room for in his garage.

Also keep extra stuff for the car like "HEAT" for the gas tank, if it is freezing out side.

The trunk is my "office on wheels".

The only thing in my trunk are the reusable shopping bags that we use here in So Cal.... a blanket, and a first aid kit.
I add stuff based on the event & destination... like a case of bottle waters.

I have a quilt and plastic bags in my trunk most of the time.  We use the quilt for picnic's in the summer and emergencies in the winter.  Not to mention my husband has used the vehicle for his lawn mowing service and grass has embedded itself into the flooring.  So when I deliver custom orders I cover it all up with the quilt.  My Mom made it for me years ago out of sweatshirts from when I was younger.  Washes up well and it's huge. My sister is a teacher and for years she has used her trunk to store files.

At first nothing but groceries but once my kids where here I kept two blankets just in case. Once I kept those space sticks dehydrated foods lol. I loved em. We always went for hikes. On the news, seen a lady escape from the trunk and another time a man pushed a guy into his trunk on a surveillance camera! I thought that was just on horror tv shows.
