Things that make you go "hmmmmm..."
I completed a survey earlier today and one of the demographic questions asked me for my "five digit zip code" and then below that it said: "Please be specific"
So how exactly does THAT work?!? ;D
I understand "please be specific" when a survey asks an open ended question, but you really cannot be vague when giving your zip code! I suppose I could have been more specific in giving the +4 digits after the zip code, but the question specifically asked for five digits!!!
LOL! What other non-sensical or "well... DUH!" survey questions have you come across? (Or if you like, explain to me how I could have been un-specific in my response to this question). I think there have been other similar threads like this in the past, but I decided to start a new one rather than seek out an old/abandoned one!

I like some of the ones about gender:
Are you
male
female
non binary....wtf is non binary?

That's funny, I think they want to know very specific where you live
-
Some zip codes have a four digit number after the five digits to speed up processing, they only want the first five digits.
-
it says they only want the five digit zip code so how much more specific can you get... I also like when they ask your age and then say not to give you a range... like I wouldn't understand what age means and give them 18-99 for it lol

some surveys do ask for ages in ranges though like 18-24 or 50-59 versus just 19 or 54

Some surveys are detailed and ask for alot of personal info.
-
It is funny some of the questions that are asked. Sometimes I just close the survey out if the questions get too ridiculous or too personal.
-
I did a survey yesterday and one of the questions it asked me was "when was the last time you carpeted your ceiling" I guess they wanted to make sure I was paying attention LOL.
-
A lot of times, I have to guess at what they want and if it ask the same question as if I had not answered, then I just close it out and not do it.
-
I don't try many surveys, but when I do, I always shake my head at being asked the same question multiple times. I am guessing it is to weed out those who are not paying attention, but I think I can remember I'm female and wouldn't screw that up.

Curious questions are fine. Just if you ask me A BUNCH of question, pay me!
-
some times the questions are meant to show if your paying attention.
-
My absolute favorite question is "Have you ever been involved in an accident that resulted in your death?"

I just got another one earlier this morning on another survey site. It asked me to pick the item which has the closest relation to a lemon and my choices were: Shoe, Onion, Lime, Car. I so much wanted to select car, but I decided to pick the answer they wanted. Good thing I went with my head instead of my heart because it ended up paying out $1.07 for just a five minute survey! And that site doesn't give out penny DQ bonuses either!

Some people believe gender isn't binary (2 options), but that it exist on a spectrum, meaning many possibilities.

you have to pay attention or you might get kicked out
