I've been on medication for it before. It was raising my blood pressure and often made me exhausted. I have a condition known as "hypersomnia." I sleep too much, but the doctors have no idea why I do it. It may be related to depression.
Typically, I go to bed at around 9pm each night and wake up somewhere around 7am. I then lie in bed for another hour or so, so that means I'm in bed about 11 hours every night. There's so much I'd like to get done around the house but frankly there just isn't time for it because I spend all of my free time sleeping.
Any ideas on a natural way to get me out of bed? Or should I just accept my fate as someone who's always sleeping?

Maybe you should get a job and get some responsabilities.

Drink a lot of sweet tea and the sugar will make you sweat so much you won't be able to sleep, eat /drink acid food items

Ppl get exhausted from hard work/doing a lot in a day then you sleep. If you have a severe injury you're going to sleep to recover whether naturally or meds. Sleeping when you actually don't need it is bs unless your diet is doing it ? Also being in bed isn't the same as sleeping and if you're depressed then do something with your life that gives it meaning ( a reason to be awake and active. Get a pet to take care of and that's a responsibility.)

I have two suggestions. You should be exercising at least an hour a day. The endorphins you get from exercising will help your Depression.
My other suggestion is to volunteer somewhere for a few hours a week if possible. If you focus your energy on helping others that also might help your depression.
Good luck :rainbow: :peace: :snowflake:

I agree volunteer to help others and stay busy, take long walks, enjoy life and be thankful. Once you wake up get right out of bed and do some stretching, deep breathing and get you day started. Stay positive.

I wish I had that problem instead of not sleeping enough

I have a full-time job, as well as several side hustles. I’m one of the hardest workers you’ll meet. I have 4 pets that give me motivation to get out of bed, but that only works so much. I agree I should be exercising. I’m going to start exercising again next week. I think that would be good for me. I'd volunteer if I didn't work. I'm not much of a people person so I don't think spending more time with people would be the answer.

I have not been diagnosed with anything but I sleep around 10 hours at night and then I sleep several and I do mean several hours in the daytime after my son goes to work. It worries me but I don't know how to stop it. I am sure mine is related to depression for sure. Well I wish I could help you but I don't know how to help myself. I told my sleep apnea dr (a neurologist) but his response was just to ask if I consistently use my cpap which I do.

Wow maybe he has a medical issue he isnt aware of, why have such a snarky comment?

Have you thought of talking to another doctor about this? What about support groups in your area where others with the same issue could give you advice? Other than this, I can not think of anything else.
