Orajel works good. It will help til you can go to the dentist. I have heard you can crush asprin and rub on it but I don't think I would do it. Orajel is made for that.

I'm so sorry to hear about your toothache. I know how miserable they can be. I have never found anything to actually work except going to the dentist and getting an antibiotic.
-
Orajel is good. It has benzocaine which numbs the pain. I hope you did call the dentist 'cause that's the best thing to do.
A good home remedy is oil of cloves.
:fish:

Clove oil. A clove of garlic.
-
Advil sounds dangerous for a toothache because Advil is candy-coated.

I don't have a toothache but seeing your post reminds me that I have to go to the dentist on Tuesday. It sure comes around fast that is all I can say.
-
a dentist on youtube said to take 3 advils 3 times a day.someone else said to use mouthwash. but seeing a dentist is the best. I need to see one soon myself. i usually wait for a toothache to see the dentist.

Ice, soft foods maybe

Sorry to hear about your toothache. I know they are very painful. I think Orajel is your best bet until you can see a dentist.
Hope you feel better soon. :rainbow: :peace: :snowflake:

Thanks everyone. I called my dentist and they only extract teeth on Tuesdays & Fridays. This tooth is all cracked to I just want it out of my head, mean while the advil is working....thanks again much appreciated !!

I would go to a dentist. Home remedies will only get you so far.
-
Vanilla flavoring.

I have used oragel in the pass and stayed away from very cold beverages; for me that seemed to make it worst so I opted for room temperature beverages.

I've experienced some tooth pain myself recently...on the tooth that I had a root canal on about a year ago. I usually use Tylenol, Orajel, and Sensodyne. It has helped thus far.

I think you should call your dentist and ask for a same-day appointment. If I say I am in pain, my dentist always lets me in same day. She would even come into work on her day off to help out a patient with dental pain.

Oragel is good for a toothache. I have a huge tooth that has a cavity in it. I need to see a dentist before it really starts hurting, but I really had going to the dentist.

I was a dental hygienist for 30 years. I learned in school never to use aspirin directly around gum tissue. It's very caustic and will cause a burn to delicate tissue. For some reason, it's a widespread belief that crushing an aspirin and putting it on your tooth can help. Not so. You could end up with more problems than just your toothache. A bad toothache can really put you out of commission!

That is such an awful feeling

My brother used to use Jack Daniels. Not that that's a great idea.
-
Peppermint is great for relief as well as smashing your head until you pass out oh and saltwater.
-
Toothaches are the worst! You could try crushing garlic and putting it where the pain is. I have never tried it myself but I have read that it helps.
-
Orajel or similar ointment to numb the gum and tooth.
Chewable or powder aspirin...drink some water because
it will work faster than any other pills.

I heard that using Goody powder is good.
