Just curious if anyone else on here also happens to be part of the fun community of rock painters :D :rainbow: :rainbow:
I'm not really sure how this works but I'm testing the waters I'm sure someone will correct me if I do something wrong
-
Why? ???
-
I've heard of it, seen people do it but have never tried it myself. Don't have enough spare time to do something like that. But hey, if you enjoy it, go for it!

I've not heard of this kind of entertainment. I know people paint rocks, but to hide them that seems sorta of strange. I quite don't understand this, do you hide them for others to find?! Do they get something if somebody finds these rocks?! Umm kinda confused! :confused1: :confused1: :confused1: :confused1: :confused1: :confused1:

some of the schools and youth groups did this a while back in our community but I did not find any

I have a rock garden* mostly slate and quartz
-
lol that would be beautiful to have a lot of painted rocks in the yard. I can imagination that!
-
I haven't heard of that, what exactly do you do? The painting part I get, but not the hiding part. Is it like easter eggs?
-
I do not paint on rocks or anything else. However, I have a friend who does paint on rocks. She has beautiful gardens which all have her rocks. She does give some away to friends and family members.
-
my family did but I never have
-
I've seen painted rocks but have never painted one myself. One of my granddaughters did that in school one year and it was really cute. I've not heard of painting rocks and then hiding them.
-
i found a rock last summer and posted on facebook where i found it and rehid it
-
not....not familiar with this activity...can you elaborate?
-
Rocks are natural unlike paint on them, just like graffitti is unnatural,if ppl want something to do then why not pick up litter ?
-
My mother used to paint rocks when I was in grade school... we had them in our yard & they were cute. Usually ladybugs.
I had heard about this rock painting & leaving them around for others to find years ago & forgot about that movement. I've never found a painted rock in my travels, but I think that would be fun to paint rocks later in life...... maybe who ever found the rock maybe with a painted inspirational message would bring a bit of cheer to whomever found it. :)

No but I had a pet rock when I was a kid.
-
I think this was a short-lived fad. Last summer there was an article in the paper showing groups painting rocks with designs or uplifting sayings. the painted rocks were then "hidden" -in plain view- and the finder could pick it up and keep it.
I think the idea was to share good feelings with people at random.

Me too.... :-[ :P

No but I have relatives in St. Augustine FL who are doing it big time. Here where I live near Daytona Beach they are doing it. I don't know how it got started but it seems people are having quite a good time with it. I am disabled and rarely get out but I actually saw my first rock on the drive through window of Dunkin Donuts the other day.

i have never heard of this but if it is something you wnat to try go for it.
-
I have never done it but I know someone who does. It seems fun but I would never be able to do it because I don't have the extra time.
-
I usually paint them but for my garden. I don't hide them but yes, it is a tradition, especially since rocks last forever and eggs don't. It works for those allergic to eating eggs they can at least join in the hunt and not feel left out.
