Who's watching tonight? ALSO, why is it a red carpet as opposed to a green, blue, purple one?
-
not interested in watching
-
I'm not interested either......they turned it into something too political. ::) ::)
-
I'm not watching because they've become too political.
-
I never watch The Oscars. I think that they are pretty boring. :monkey:
-
I am also not watching the Oscars.
-
I never watch the oscars, especially not now. I plan to watch the Billy Graham special that's on tonight.
-
Not watching, could care less about them
-
Knew an ahole named Oscar who parked his lil crap car more in the crosswalk then a parking spot
-
Not sure if I will watch. I am usually busy, so it will be noise in the background.
-
It'll be aired as best parts on youtube and other sites with video and text,so why watch it live ? Every dead movie star is in the afterlife going " Yeah, I hated that *bleep* !!!" They're monkeys for the money though.
-
Never once watch the Oscars, I only see small clips from youtube and stuff and that's about it.
-
I am not going to watch it because it takes up so much time but I will see who won. I will probably watch the movies who win the awards.
-
I am going to DVR it because then I skip thru it and only watch what I want
-
Watching but just a little. Cooking dinner so don't feel like I need to tape it. Will read my book dur8ng the boring parts and ads. Wait that will be most of it.
-
Not me I could care less.
-
Come on now, every movie buff has got to watch the Oscars for at least a little while.
I'll consider letting some of you slide, if you, spend some time googling and watches clips or rebroadcasts online.
-
did not watch the oscars,, could have cared less. to much politics and stupidity. Watched The Walking Dead !!!! So much better :)
-
My personal feeling is that the Oscars ceremony is a complete waste of my time and insults my intelligence. I am interested in who wins, but I'd much rather spend 90 seconds to read that information the morning after than spend hours upon hours to watch it live and be inundated with political viewpoints that I (mostly, but not entirely) disagree with.
When the award shows (this includes more than just the Oscars) became more about politics than the field of entertainment they honor - they became dead to me. I watch actors and athletes and listen to musicians for their talent because that is what they are good at.
I watch political debates and news sources that I find reliable for political opinions and I go to church on Sunday to listen to someone that I respect preach to me. When an entertainer or athlete gets onto one of these podiums - I turn off the TV or radio or whatever media they spew from and I chose to direct my attention to something much more worthwhile of my time.
-
I don't like to spend a whole evening watching the Oscars. I prefer to watch the following day when the best parts are highlighted in the news.
-
I'm not watching the Oscar, I've had enough of politics & virtue signaling & don't always feel like being preached at while the people doing the preaching are the ones engaging in the behavior they are preaching against.
Sometimes I just like mindless entertainment that is positive & just an escape from reality for a couple hours.

Heard they went pretty well! Jimmy kimmel did a great job I bet!
-
I had no interest in the Oscar's. Too long and boring for me. I'm sure I'll see a list of the winners and who was best dressed on line somewhere :D ;)
-
Yay! Responding way to late to something that happened long enough ago that no one will give three craps if I have anything to do with or have anything to say about it until it really isn't anything important anymore. I didn't watch, but I followed along as much as I could.

When I was much younger I used to love all the award shows where there were movie stars. I used to watch from start to finish. However, by the time I got into my thirties, my interest started to decrease and I would usually turn the channel back and forth. By my forties, I was pretty much done with these shows and just listen to the news next day for the winners and catch the highlights on shows like Entertainment Tonight. That's enough for me! Kind of tired of people making all that money trotting around in gowns and jewelry worth thousands of dollars and getting gift bags that they can afford themselves.
-
The best show to avoid......
Totally a waste of time.
:rose:

Is long and boring. :bad:

I did not watch the Oscars because a large percentage will either be political, about sexual harassment, the inequities dealt to minorities or about power to women-none of which has to do with handing an award to the supposed best and brightest that Hollywood has to offer. I have watched eighty percent of the movies up for awards and thoroughly enjoyed all of them. Amazing actor's and actresses. If I turn on an award show to watch awards bestowed upon the best, that is what I want to see-not over payed people spewing their personal opinion on the travesty of life. I stopped watching the National Football League for precisely the same reason: I wanted to watch football-not overly priced steroid heads and an oppression movement. I work hard for my money, rarely have time to engage in entertainment, and now (pretty much) catch the results on the internet.
-
I wasn't interested in watching the awards show. It's gotten to be very boring.
-
The Oscars is (or was) the only awards show that I used to watch, but this year I skipped it for the first time. It's not like I "boycott" it or something, but it just doesn't seem worth the effort anymore.
-
Last night was the lowest rated Oscars since they started keeping track. I think people are getting tired of the pompous people who think they can tell us how to think.

I heard about this concerning the low viewership of the 2018 Oscar Awards. This issue was debated on Fox this evening. One point that was made about people not tuning in was due to the fact that we have seen no blockbuster movies in recent years (like Titanic). People watch the Oscars when a big movie comes along; they want to see it rake in the Oscars.
-
I didn't watch because I never even heard of the movies that were in the running. I didn't watch because Meryl Streep and other pompous idiots were going to be there and I don't need them to tell me what I can and can't do, can or can't admire, or can or can't vote for whomever I think is the best person for the job. Kimmel, too, has turned me off big time with his ignorance. I used to like him but now all he does is make political hate speeches.
I watched Walking Dead and Talking Dead, then bed time.
-
I don't watch the Oscars like I did when I was younger. Now, I don't know anything about the movies because we don't go to them anymore.
-
i missed it,,,, ::) :(
-
I watched a little bit but can't take all those hours of that so I get the recap on line.
-
Nope didn't watch them, They have just gotten so rotten to watch, I rarely even watch the movies that have come out lately, I don't think most of them are worth it. I just don't enjoy gong to one any more what with all of the noise the kids make or kicking my seat in the back. If I want to watch a movie I will rent it and watch at home in peace and quite.
-
I watched them and enjoyed the show. There was not a lot of politics but there was a lot more diversity this year than I have seen in the past. It makes me laugh when some on the forum call everyone in Hollywood ignorant,
just because they don't agree with a few opinions. If your opinion is swayed by a 30 or 45 second speech how strong could it be anyway. Anyway, that is why they have lots of channels and programs on so we can all see what we want to.]
-
i feel that the oscars is overrated nowadays with all the controversy in hollywood
-
Wow, I was surprising that not many people watching it
-
How many ?
-
I watch it every year. This year, I tried to watch it, but I only lasted five minutes. It's a joke. If I didn't know any better I would think that they are trying to disgrace themselves.
-
I did not watch the Oscars. I was watching something else.
-
I did watch it! I love the Oscars!
