If you throw something away, and someone else takes it out of the trash for their needs, will it bother you? Or do you not care?
-
i do not care i say another mans trash is someone elses treasure
-
It doesn't bother me but I wonder why they want it. But I always heard that one mans trash is another mans treasure. :o :o
-
No I would be happy that someone wanted it where I couldn't use it or didn't want it. In fact I just sold my mom's house and we put out some really good stuff it was just that we were over-whelmed with stuff. I know that people picked up a lot of it before trash day and I was really happy about it.
-
No, it does not matter to me, I agree another man trash can be another man's treasure. :)
-
If I put something in the trash it's because I don't need it and it has no value to me. I don't care what someone else does with it.
-
I have no trouble with people taking my unwanted things from the trash, as long as they don't bother me or my family. It's just going to the dump anyway. Might as well let someone else salvage it if they can.
-
I don't care - if someone else can use it then it's not going to waste. I love to see others reuse things.
-
Some ppl by me take out recycling for money,I always see different Hispanic ladies all over my area doing that. Wonder how the money they make monthly compares to Fusiion ?
-
No it doesn’t bother me at all. Many times we have put things out for garbage and have seen people stop their cars and take something. It makes me happy if someone can use something we don’t need or want.
-
It's trash to me if I throw it out.
-
no it doesnt bother me. I will put stuff out at the side of the road, that I cant use anymore, or that needs a minor fix, and people pick it up all the time
-
YEARS ago (I'm talking 25 or so) my dad took a VCR out of the neighbor's trash that he saw when putting out our own. He used to fiddle around with them - take them apart and try to fix them. He managed to get this one working again. So he goes to the neighbor's door and asked him if he still had the remote control to the VCR he'd thrown out the week before!
I don't recall where the story went from there...
-
No that would not bother me. If I have something that I don't need or want and someone else has a need for it then by all means take it.
-
I wouldn't care at all. I would care if I find my trash on the street as trash, or thrown on my lawn or something embarrassing like that. I have let my trash go before. One man's trash is another's treasure.
-
No, I don;t care because it has ran it's course with me; so if someone can use then I am good, my trash may be treasure to them.
-
it wont bother me ,,,i did not want it..... :star:

No it doesn't bother me and we have plenty of things that need to be put out or given to charity. Let someone else get some use out of it. China get a lot of things from the US and sell it back to us as a trinket or something so it's all about being resourceful.
-
If you didn't want them to have your trash then what, stand guard, call the police, sniper them ? Once it's at the curb it's anybody's,now if they take your garbage cans w/o permission then they hang.
-
It wouldn't bother me at all. I would be really glad the item was still of use to someone else.

"Man why you throwing away that condom after only one use ? I use the same one least 10 times, yeah those are my 9 kids, don't know what happened ?"
-
Doesn't bother me , although if I throw something away it is because it is broken beyond repair, but if it has some use or values to someone I always donate it. I only donate it is not broken and can be used. Some people just throw all kinds of trash in bags and bring it down, we as volunteers have to go through the bags and get rid of all broken and useless pieces of trash, or even have to throw something away that could have been used if it had not been awfully dirty, we don not have washers or dryers there. Sometimes a couple of us will bring home a big bag and wash it up and take it back.

We know a family originally from Viet Nam who worked all kinds of odd jobs and picked up recyclables in the trash every morning for about 3 hours. The put all 3 of their children through college on the trash pick up job. They put all of that money into a college fund. In my area it is illegal for people to go through the trash because the city has a recycling program. But I have never seen it enforced.

It would not bother me if other people took things out of my garbage but I think that they would be hard pressed to find anything of value. I would be angry at myself if they found something of value because I could have converted it to cash. I would probably ask them what value their purloined item had and begin to make money off of the same item myself (whether from my garbage or someone elses). I have found treasures in other people's garbage: Old water heaters, computers, aluminum, realtor signs, wires, metal broom handles...all things that can be cashed in at the local salvage yard. I have a special spot in my garage for these treasures and take them in every four months. I had a rip, last summer, in which I could not fit everything in my SUV and had to tie some on top!

it doesnt bother me that someone takes something out of my trash or something that i have thrown away for their own benefit
-
I don't even bother to pay attention.
-
no I like junk too
-
I'm happy to share the trash.
-
No, It was my trash and his or hers treasure even if I toss out a $$$$ item and did not realize it.
-
If I threw it away I didn't want it so if they want it so be it.
-
I just recently put out a nice stationary bike and I was so glad to see that someone else picked it up. It doesn't bother me at all.
-
It doesn't bother me but some towns have laws against taking someone else's throwaways. They call it theft. Hard to believe, but true. We have a friend that used to go around collecting all kinds of throwaways and then have a yard sale.
-
Not something that I would have ever thought of lol. If someone took it out of my garbage and needed it, I don't think I would care. I threw it away so obviously I didn't want it anymore.
-
Got alot of crap from constantly composting garbage in the green bins that the city supply that I once lived my life with the only real trash we had was Kitty Liter and Dirty Diapers........I don't mind recycling and one you use that as a metaphor....it really doesn't have a long shelf life in my brain as being anything but a huge pain in the butt...throwing away gets easier the less room you have.....if that makes a difference to you , then now I know.

After working at a charity that works with homeless, I want other people to find use for the stuff that I can't anymore. I understand more about what charities and their clients need.
Plus it keeps trash out of the landfill, which is always good.
-
No. I am a firm believer of the "One's man's trash is another man's treasure" mantra. If I wanted the item, I wouldn't have discarded it.
-
Why would you care if you need to throw out anyway
-
I do not care if someone takes my stuff from the trash because most of the time when I put things in the trash it is because it is damaged. Usually I take stuff to Goodwill.
-
I understand that people have different opinions and that is what makes life interesting. But I would be really confused if anyone has a problem with someone taking something out of their trash.
