Ok so I have 3 children, ages 4, 3, and 2. And I know its normal to lose some head hair sometimes from stress. I'm not losing all of it just some. But i have noticed that my legs hairs and underarm hairs aren't growing. Is that normal. Its been like 2 weeks since I shaved and still nothing. IS that from stress or what? ??? I don't think its my age because I am only 23. So has anyone had this problem or is it just me? I'd like to hear some of your comments. Thanks

I have never had this issue. You may want to consult you physician to make sure things are alright. It may be as simple as a hormone imbalance, or may be nothing at all. In the meantime, count your lucky stars you don't have to wax or shave....enjoy the break!

I have never had this problem either. Hmmm strange.

Hello, in the fall especially, I tend to find more hair on my brush. I went to the doctor, he couldn't find anything wrong. I've never had the hair on my body stop growing. If you can, I'd see a doctor. Good Luck.

yeah sounds like a hormone problem to me too...or even a thyroid problem. tell your dr, its probably ok though. could even have something to do with your diet? make sure u r taking care of yourself.
-
thanks for all the responses. I didn't even think about my hormones. I have an appt for the doc for tomorrow so we'll see.

I wish you all the best! I have not had this happen either??

Good luck at your appointment! I am sure it is nothing major or you would be having more adverse side affects. I am glad you are seeking medical advice though, that is very smart of you.

i'm pretty sure you'll be fine, but it never hurts to be safe, good luck~

I would say it is hormones, but that would usually be the exact opposite. Definitely go to the doctor.

r u under alot of stress? could be hormones. let us know im curious and we want to make sure ur ok>> :dontknow:

Definately ask a physician, this does not seem like a normal thing and considering your a woman, i wouldnt think not having to shave your legs is a bad thing. Unless there is also hair loss on your head.

I don't know if it is normal or not I have 2 kids 3 years and 25 days I didn't have this issue but sometimes you find something strange because of the hormones change like the skin color during pregnancy. I think you should consult a physician to be in the safe side

Yeah, I agree you need a thyroid test. I was losing hair by the handful for no apparent reason last year, I could see my scalp ( I'm only 32). I didn't notice a change in body hair, maybe it's different for different people. My problem turned out to be a prescription I was taking for Migraines called Topamax. After I switched meds it took about 6 months to return to normal. So if you take any prescribed medicine, that could be it too.

Ok yea it is just stress he said. I don't like to take pills or meds or whatever so I hope this just goes away. I just wanted to make sure it wasn't somethin serious. thanks for all the comments and concerns. I appreciate it. And no i am not complaining about shaving my legs lol. But my grandmother told me that one time she shaved her legs when she was younger and hair never grew back. So maybe it could be genetic too? I don't know though

If you are only having a problem with leg and underarm hair it is a blessing! :P

I am very glad to hear that you are ok. I really did not think it was anything serious, but I am not a doctor. I am sure your doctor told you, but you really need to try to find time to relax. Being overstressed can lead to very serious health issues as well. Even if you take 20 minutes a day for yourself to soak in the bath tub will help! You are young, don't let your body age before its time.
