The CDC has just reported the first death due to eating the lettuce. I don’t know exactly had to tell if it comes from Yuma Arizona, I just stopped buying it.
-
I'm not buying it either. It's a shame because romaine is always my favorite!! I love making a good Caesar salad and serving it with dinner throughout the week.
-
My favorite too and not all the bags show where it was grown and loose stalks you have no idea at all. Been buying iceberg until this is over
-
A lot of the restaurants in my area are not serving any salads until this has passed. I love Romaine and have really been missing it, but better safe than sorry. We have planted some in our garden in case this goes on to long...LOL

It's sad that the most healthy foods you can eat seem to becoming the most dangerous!
-
Wow, now that's crazy. I'm not a big fan of romaine lettuce anyways.
-
Romaine lettuce is my sister's favorite for making salad. I am not happy about this knowing that someone dies from it. This is so sad.

I find it interesting how people are talking about 'healthy' foods being dangerous. If you are eating a salad to be healthy...you wouldn't/shouldn't be eating Romaine lettuce anyway. And it's scary to me how they report this but they don't report the countless deaths because of other foods and maybe more importantly, pills!
-
I know I just saw it in the news, scary!
-
It's a shame about the Romaine lettuce. This has been a particularly bad issue, makes me sad someone died from it. Hope they get rid of the bad lettuce soon.
-
Yes so sad and almost Romaine lettuce comes from Arizona and California. Many restaurants don't offer Caesar salad anymore because of that problem. So scary.
-
I never buy that kind of lettuce.
-
I am just now feeling better after 6 days, having eaten a caesar salad, dont even know if I can look at lettuce again for a long time
-
I haven't been in any stores lately but last week I had noticed that the one store was still selling Romaine. Don't know if it was grown somewhere else or if they just didn't know about the problem. Supposedly PA had the most people sick from it. That, too, was from last week's news. I was going to buy some but not now. I'll wait. Guess it's back to good ole lettuce temporarily. :(

I eat lots of salad but now have to watch more closely. It seems a lot of foods are having an issue lately, a couple of weeks ago it was eggs.
-
I love eating salads. I usually eat large salads at least 2 days a week. We have been serving salads where I work and no one has gotten sick so I finally bought some yesterday and it was so good.
-
I checked online to see if you could wash the lettuce well enough to rid it of the e-coli. The site I went to said that there are too many crevices in the lettuce where the germs can hide and so it cannot easily be washed away. Too bad. :(
:fish:

yeah its some scarey news...... :( :(

We had to quit selling salads at work for a little over a week. Some customers got a little mad but it is better to be safe than sorry.
-
I saw that, and thats my favorite lettuce to eat.
-
The Same here, I just get the regular iceberg lettuce which is not my favorite; but until things clear up that will be my choice and hope they don't find a problem with that one as I am a salad lover.
-
Fortunately I didn't have any romaine lettuce when the warning came out. I won't buy it for a while now. Spinach in my salad sounds good ;)
-
Don't eat RL, I'll make you sick.

There are problems with the bagged lettuce every year. I had been buying it but then had not in a couple weeks then saw the recall. I have decided not to buy it any more. Would like to just grow my own.
