-Both KFC and Popeyes specialize in fried chicken products.
-Popeyes originated in New Orleans, KFC started in Kentucky.
-Both have used the color red in designing their establishments, a color that has been scientifically proven to increase appetite.
I love KFC. I was raised on it and I love the original. So many people would prefer going to Popeyes. I admit that I like their sides.
Which do you prefer?

Geeesh my favorite color is red ! Now i know why I've gained weight ! I like KFC the best ! Maybe coz Popeyes wasn't around my home town growing up , My mom loved KFC mashed potatoes , one of the few things I could get her to eat during her chemo.

I prefer Popeyes, I have eaten KFC most of my life and I still like it but I prefer Popeyes.

May I toss a third hat into the ring? We do not have any Popeyes nearby, so I have never had the option of eating their chicken. I don't know how far their franchises operate, but we have a Lee's Famous Recipe Chicken in town which is quite comparable to KFC in menu options and so forth. I very much prefer Lee's to KFC.

We don't have either a Popeye's or a KFC in our area. But I think I have had KFC before. So I guess I don't prefer one over the other. :bunny: :cat: :monkey:

I've never had Popeye's... I grew-up eating KFC... I like their biscuits.
It seems that KFC has gotten pretty expensive lately, might as well go to a restaurant.

I like KFC, but can't honestly say I prefer it to Popeye's simply because there isn't a Popeye's convenient to me and I haven't ate at one in a LONG time.

Ive only had Popeyes once and felt the chicken could have been cooked a little more.It was ok tho.
I like KFC better.I trust it more and their cole-slaw is really good.I love their mashed potatos and gravy too.

:fish: :moon: :fish: I Love KFC more than Popeye's. I had KFC growing up, didn't eat at Popeye's till I was past my teen years. I do like the potatoes and gravy at Popeye's. Just Love the way KFC makes their chicken! :fish: :moon: :fish:

I like KFC but also enjoy Popeye's. But my favorite is Church's. it is less greasy and the sides are really great. So guess it really shows is we all like fried chicken. We don't eat a lot of it because hubby is not suppose to eat any thing but baked or grilled. But rules are made to be broken once in a great while.

Vicki,the KFC grilled is very good.Thats what we buy all the time.

They are both chicken and fried. both can be dry or to hot.

I enjoy KFC chicken over Popeyes because Popeyes chicken gets completely hard if you don't eat it all that day. Their chicken wouldn't be good for leftovers.

I prefer KFC on the rare occasion I buy it. But like you there really wasn't a Popeyes nearby so that might be a factor in my opinion.

KFC which is something we rarely purchase. Would rather make it homemade or order the boasted chicken from the family near us.

I like both of them. However, I do think i like KFC a little more. I loved the chicken, mashed potato and corn bowl.

I prefer Popeyes myself. The chicken just tastes better to me. I like the spices they use more too.

We got our first Popeye's in our town about 6 months ago. We have always had KFC. I prefer KFC because that's what I grew up on. I loved when they had BBQ chicken. They haven't had that for years.

I've always loved KFC but not the one in our town! They are rude and careless so I quit going there. We have a popeyes now and I go there some and also Chicken Express. Like them both.

Ppl would state they cooked rats and put bread crumbs on because it was so stringy and nasty yet the franchise still exists.

Don't ever think that question is ever going away, today I'd pick KFC. Maybe not tomorrow though.

I like both of them but I would pick KFC because it is a better deal. I feel you get more for your buck with KFC. :moneymouth:

If you like southern spice go to PES, otherwise the original KFC. :thumbsup:

I don't especially care for KFC so I guess if I had to choose between the two it would be Popeyes. My favorite chicken place if Bogangles..

Popeyes is more greasy, but the taste is better. But you can't live on it, or you won't live that long

I really like the sides and biscuits at popeyes better than KFC let me say when they are fresh but I like KFC ok. I don't like fast food anything too much because most of the time it isn't fresh. But then I don't cook anymore and you gotta eat something right

Over the years I have learned to dislike KFC. I really like Popeye's more.

Popeye is cheaper, they offer a lot of discount. KFC taste better.

I have never had Popeyes Chicken but they are building one close so now I will be able to try it I do like KFC but because of all the grease it makes me sick everytime I eat it ! I'm looking forward to trying Popeyes what are some of your favorite things there to eat?

I would rather grill up my own chicken ... way way better in my opinion!

I used to like KFC a long time ago. Popeye's was O.K. but never my favorite. A few years back a family member highly recommended the KFC strips.
After I tried them, I was so grossed out that I never went back and never will.
As far as this type of cuisine is concerned, my very favorite is Zaxby's. Wings, tenders, grilled, salads, it's all good. ;)

I prefer KFC. I tried Popeyes once and thought it was terrible and have never went back.

Now Popeyes has the best chicken overall. Plus They have so many other bonuses such as seafood I’ve KFC.

I have not eaten from KFC or Popeyes in years because I just don't care for fast food. When I did eat fast food though I most ate KFC.

We just got a popeyes in our area so I recently tried it for the first time, I really liked it. Tbh I like Church's chicken better than both of them, but they are both good. KFC is great tasting but so many times you get it with the skin so thin and falling off.

I like both but I prefer Popeye's & sides more. I have to be in the mood for KFC to get it! & recently I've stopped eating KFC since it landed my dad in the hospital for food poisoning a few months ago!

KFC used to be good. Now it tastes like fish (they cook their chicken in the same fryer that they cook their Long John Silver's food in). I really like Raising Cane's. I've never tried Popeye's, but I'll have to try them soon.

I have never ate at Popeyes. I like KFC. We went in to a Popeyes once and the prices were outrageous so we just left.

I prefer KFC..their restaurants are much cleaner..the staff is much more friendly and it isn't nearly as spicy as Popeyes

I'd have to do a comparison between the two! I think there's a Popeyes near me.
Grew up on KFC, though, so that would probably be the deciding factor. I loved their Little Bucket Parfaits...

I like KFC however I love Lees Chicken which is located in KY and surrounding states!

I eat from both places, but I don't like the mash potatoes from Popeyes, the gravy taste really bad, maybe if they changed how to make the gravy then I wouldn't have to go to KFC for the mash potatoes.

I would say that I am more of a KFC person, simply because it has been around much longer than Popeyes. However, Popeyes has the better biscuits, LOL.

I like Popeyes and KFC but my favorite is KFC. The difference for me I think is the seasoning used on the chicken. :) :) :) :)

kfc...i can only eat certain things due to a milk allergy...so eating out has gone down a good bit..

I'm allergic to milk, and Popeyes puts milk in most of their food. But I did prefer Popeyes when I was unaware of my milk allergy.

None of them!I cook at home and fast food is not my fave.

I like them both. Popeye's has the spicy chicken and KFC has the crispy chicken.
