My 17 yo daughter's boyfriend is grounded until he pays to repair their garage door. I hope to heck he's motivated because today was the last day of school, and she's mopey already. I can't imagine 3 mo of it!

I think that's great. Kids need to learn to be accountable for their actions, I guess he broke the door so he should fix it.

I guess when it comes to garage doors, and their importance you have to do that. I hope things end up well for you thought.

Young adult, hope he will fix the garage door and get it done quickly.

Kudos to his parents for holding him responsible for the garage door. It's a real world out there so learning to pay for one's actions is a great life skill. Your daughter may even learn from it when she sees that yes there are consequences.

He will know that in life you do things that have repercussions, own up to the things you do, don't blame others for your actions. He hit the garage door so paying for it will show others he is responsible.

lol. Well if he is too lazy to work out the money and pay for damages he caused (obviously it was not a real accident or they wouldn't force him to pay for it) then he isn't anybody she needs to be with anyway.
I remember talking to a guy once and he would admit he was lazy and always looked for the easiest way to do things. I also remember thinking - I need to get as far away from you as possible. lol. I work hard and look for the right way to do things.
