Title: What kind of business would you own
Post by: camellia0 on June 03, 2018, 03:00:00 pm: If you were offered money to open a business, what would you choose? I would love to have a bakery. There are very few of these where I live. I would have a small section for people to sit and eat with some coffee. A very relaxed atmosphere.

I would like something where I could work more on my own and have to deal directly with a lot of people who tend to complain about everything.

I have some ideas but would not put them in a public place because it is something I am either in the process of pursuing or may in the future.

A lady related to someone in my family done the bakery thing basically like you were saying but they ended up closing. I think it was problems within the family running it because they seemed to do fairly well as far as business goes.

I already have a business, I'm just working on getting it more established. Anyone who really wants to open a business should research it and make sure it is really for them. Post by: stokeman455 on June 06, 2018, 02:36:08 pm: ??? I used to have my own Painting Company in Ohio but, the X got it in the divorce and screwed up everything. Now I am poor and disabled so I'll have to figure that one out! I am going back to college anyway...

Don't you do that now? I sure would love something like that myself. I'm tired of the small stuff but I can't get affiliates.

I thought about a convenience store. My husband said I'd be great with gourmet meals and selling them but I dont' want the state and federal government sticking their nose in my life any more than it is now. :)

i used to be good in selling stuff but since the crash and all the competition out there now on the internet, it's not a good deal anymore. I don't how any start up cash anymore either. :(

Right now hubby said I should have a yard sale selling everything I want to declutter for no more than $1. He said we'd make a fortune. Yeah, mom and I were collectors-but around here, people steal from yard sales. Can you believe that?

I would host book clubs in my store and coffee klatches in my yarn store where customers could get together and talk. Of course, I wouldn't make enough money in either store to love on most likely, but at least I would be having fun.

So I've become registered with my state under Cottage food Laws to make and sell goodies out of my home. I participate in local vendor fairs and farmers markets. My dream (and my husbands) is to have a home and our shops on the property. I would like a mini studio bakery so my business could be separated from where our family lives. For example: I've had cookies drying on the table and hold my breath every time someone family members even just pour milk - eek if they spilled I'd have to start all over!
