My electric bill e-mail just came into my e-mail and it went up $35.00 wow I wasn't expecting that and I am sure not happy about it. Oh well I don't know why because we haven't changed our thermostat and aren't doing anything different that I know of but it has been humid so maybe the electric has run more. We don't even cook other than breakfast. Oh well there goes my FC cash out lol.

Unfortunately just when you think you've got a bill figured into your budget it goes up and throws you all off track. :(
-
Mine drops in half during summer...no central air...just window unit in bedroom...winter is around $80 a month...summer around $40... :highfive:
-
You know I hate the summer months cause the air will be running non stop. So hot that you have to keep on all summer. Bills get high.
-
My home is total electric and my bill has come down a lot and I use the air all the time
-
We're all electric and bills go up and down depending on the heat and the cold. Once in a while we lucky with weather that needs for heat or air conditioning. Rare, though.
-
my electric always goes up in the summer as we have free heat in the winter. but our electric almost doubles in the summer because of the A/C
-
I dread the summer months for that reason. I expect my bills to be higher this time of year.
-
I hear what you're saying my lg&e bill went up $167 totally blew me away I guess it's because it's been so hot here and they are just keeps running and running but with lupus I have no choice but to keep it cold in here cuz the heat makes me so sick

:monkey: :) :monkey: Electric bills will go up or down, depending on how much air conditioning you use or heating. I would think the summer you would spend a bit more do to the heat, but some spend less. :-\ :monkey: :) :monkey:

My electric bill runs anywhere between $150 to $250 a month. Total electric house, have well water which means electric pumps everytime you turn on water or flush. I have COPD so I must have the air on all the time. :(
-
hottest may in our areas history so our electric bill was higher also
-
All of our utilities are supposed to go up 3% because of a new school tax going into effect. We just had a sizable price increase from the electric company. >:(
-
Oh no.

My electric bill went up too, but I expected it to with the hot heat outside and the kids being home. I love to see it low during the winter.

We have AC'S in the windows, But if we are not in a room we don't turn it on. the one in the dinning room is the only one going all the time along with a good box fan. Right now in the room with computer all I have on is a small room fan that is drawing from the other room. Not real cool but nice. also I only run the on in the bedroom for about 30 minutes at night to cool it off some and then run the window fan. Anything to keep the bill down. But the way we do it seems to work for us.
-
Yes, everything went up.
-
We started the AC this last month so our bill will go up.
-
Contact yoour electric company and ask them. Maybe their rates have changed!
-
Goes up every summer due to the heatwave because of the a/c on.
-
I'm thinking about getting solar. They have deals right now where the monthly payment to pay off the solar is much less than what the electric bill would be.... plus state rebates. So it might be worthwhile. I am planning to decide if switching to solar is as great as it is made out to be withing the next month.
-
Mine always go up in the summer. It is usually twice as much as it in in the winter. But living in Florida there really isn't much choice. You just can't live without the AC.
-
My actual usage went up due to the 90 degree days here but I am a monthly budget and they square it up once a year but during the summer months I send in a little more so the balance at year end is not so big may $40.00 for the entire year. Last year I receive a credit of $64.00 because when they send a text to help save electric they want to use less when the demand is high so I don't do laundry or anything that would increase my usage that day then I can get the credit.
-
Its all about summer air condition raising up them electric bills. I love summer but hate the price you pay for bill.
-
Why would an electric bill increase in cost for hotter weather?
-
Our electric bill was only $108, cheapest it's been so far. Luckily our apartment stays cool without a air conditioner!
-
Our water bill has gone up 3%, was paying in the $50 plus range, now it's over $75 plus. It's ridiculous. Kinda wishing I was back in the country, gotta pay to use water, it should be free.

You indeed are lucky. My apartment gets stuffy except on bitter cold days or nights!
