I am back home after a week plus absence.
My dad, age 91, passed away on 6-16-18.
I was able to leave my job shortly after I received a call from my sister that he wasn't doing very well. Dad died while I was driving the 3 hour trip from my home in Minnesota to my hometown in Iowa.
I am sad to lose him, but also happy because (A) I know he is in heaven; (B) He is no longer in pain.
His prostate cancer moved into his bones which left his back like "swiss cheese" and each movement was excruciating for him even with hourly doses of morphine.
Rest in Peace Dad.....until we meet again.

Sorry about your loss, my husband and stepfather both have prostate cancer. Am not looking forward to the future, Both have refused treatment. They are both leaving it the hand of God and when the time comes all they want to do have something for pain. But the stats are really in their favor. 80% of the men in their age group have it but only 15% will die from it. the rest will be from natural causes. so far both are doing great and living the life they want. So who am I to complain about it.

Thank you vickysue. My Dad didn't do any treatment either. He is now in God's hands in heaven.
I pray that your husband and stepfather continue living their lives as they want to.
Dad did really good with the prostate cancer. He did what he wanted and lived fairly normally. Old age showed its signs of course. When it moved to the bones, it was roughly one month and he was gone.

I am sorry to hear about your recent loss. Times like these are very difficult. It's good to focus on things, such as freedom from pain and suffering though.

Condolences to you and yours. He had a long life with lots of wonderful memories and is now in heaven with no pain. I will think of and pray for you during this time, even at his age and his being ill it is still a shock.

So sorry for your loss. Try to remember the good times and hopefully that will help your through you grief. In time it will get easier.

I'm so sorry for your dad passing that must've been hard on you and your family. I hope he is in peace resting soundly. Sorry for your loss. I just lost my mom Easter morning so I will keep you in prayer at this difficult time. I still have moments but I get comfort from the memories.

I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your father. I am so blessed to still have my parents around for the infinite advice that I am always seeking! My granny is still kicking up her heals at 95 years young!!
