I stopped watching news. I get so tired of all the name calling and hatred. I do scroll through Facebook and glance at article and comments, but I do not let it get to me. I can honestly say that I feel good now that I do not have all of that negativity inside of me.

Lately watching the news is like injecting yourself with poison. I watch just enough to know what's going on then I turn it off.
-
I don't like watching the news either... so much negativity. Don't want to go to bed with that in my head.
-
I agree the news is negative. You need to know what's happening though.

Facebook is the worse place to get the news. I look at our local news. Sometimes I scroll thru news headlines on Yahoo. But most of it you don't know if it is real or fake. And you are right - all it is - is people fighting and arguing. The dumocrats needs to accept that Trump is the President and suck it up. Get jobs and go on with life.
Stop making stuff up, stop screaming and destroying things, and stop making up lies trying to start fights and further divide the country.
For the most part, I don't watch too much but you do kind of need to know what is going on in the world. So you don't wake up on morning and find we are at war and have no idea what happened or where it came from.

I'll still watch now and then.

Any news but Fox! Lately, I’ve noticed that the media frequently focuses on bad news! You rarely see or hear good news! One reason why trump won the election constant negative news on his opponent.
-
No news is good news, but I still follow them
-
The local news in the NYC area where I live contains a lot of violence because it reports on all the awful stuff being done by gangs. But I find the state, national and international news very fascinating and I also think it's important to keep up with what is going on not just in the U.S. but also in other places in the world too.

I stopped watching a long time ago... now i get my news from the grape vine in my tiny town of 68 people or stuff i might catch on FB or Google. I'm allot happier!

Trump won the election because he was a better person for the job. If that witch had won this country would be worse than a third world country by now. The cry babies need to get over it. She is just mad because the TRUTH was exposed. She thought she had covered it up so no one would find out the things she done.
And if you are going to say everything negative reported about her is fake then everything reported about Trump is fake. You can't have it both ways.

so tired of the news,,,so much hatred and bad news...

I watch both local and national news on TV and try to switch channels so I get different viewpoints. I won't say what channel I won't watch because I think the news is so slanted, but I will say that I only watch national news between 15-30 minutes per day because it wears me out anymore and makes me angry at times.
-
I barely check the news anymore. Life is a bit too busy, thank goodness. Saves my sanity tbh.

Like LeBron James' latest dumba$$ statement the other day about a racist Donald Trump using sports to try to divide the country... He actually had the gall a while back to call Trump supporters uneducated and then comes up with this crap proving the reverse to be true.
I often wish athletes, actors, and musicians would stick to athletics, acting, and singing.

Hardly watch cnn unless something is happening. watch the local news most of the time till they start with the weather.
-
I watch to keep up on the generals, but don't watch all the discussions and arguments.
-
I understand folks that no longer want to watch the news, completely understandable. I wish there was a news channel that only reported good news, there is a lot of good news out there.
I respect people that are Trump supporters, some of my friends are and we have had many discussions about our differences. I have NEVER called a Trump supporter any negative name, NEVER. Yet, I also read/hear folks that are Trump supporters call anyone who is not names. Why is that? Why can we not respect each other's differences? I have valid reasons for not voting for Trump. I voted on what is important to me. Why does that make me a person that should be called names by supporters of Trump?

Some things I keep up with like the soccer team rescue. I prefer positive things also because all this childish stuff and name calling is bad for the country.

That was a great story to follow but I have to admit, there were times I was stressed worrying if they would get them all out safe and sound. It was a great story to follow.

Very well said! It is all very depressing.
What a waste of time!

I used to get the Daily News delivered to me.I enjoyed the sports section, comics and Jumble.I would glance at the news and sometimes be sorry i read it if it was sad.I followed the Cosby BS and other stuff too.I havent had it delivered now since Xmas.I enjoy reading late at night before i go to sleep, but i can take it or leave it.There are better reading options then the worldly BS!!

I watch the news often, but it is very negative and frustrating.
-
I watch the news, but I have a filter in my brain that automatically trashes the real crap. This fire season is something I appreciated knowing about and how so many brave men lost their lives protecting us.
-
I haven't watched national news in a long time. I will look online and read any articles that are of interest to me. I do watch our local news, though.
-
Yes right now there is a lot of negative and almost hatred news all over the networks; like you I just turn it off sometimes just don't want to hear anymore.
-
I am sick of the news. It is awful.
-
I am completely with you. I don't watch the news and haven't watch it for quite a number of years. All of my friends that watch it are always talking about what they saw on the news and they are always in a bad mood because of it. What purpose does that serve? I have no place for such negativity in my life.

I've noticed that most of the news comes from Twitter the day or several hours prior.... might as well just look at Twitter. Don't read the comments thought there is so much hate there... ain't no one got time for that.
I stopped watching the news & listening to talk radio shortly after 9-11... when everyone practically watched the news 24-7. After months, I realized it was all so negative & it just sucked all the happiness & life out, it's not like we can change anything so I decided to just ignore it. I just started watching news again November 8, 2016 when Trump was winning the Presidential election -- the updates on the cable news regarding the election, was faster then what was reported on the internet.
-
I still watch the local and national news. Want to be kept up to date about what is happening around the city and world. Just try to ignore some the bad or stupid stuff that happens

But the news is just beginning to get fun...and promises to get so much better over the next six months or so! The reality show is in full bloom, the players are almost as intelligent as the group in Jersey Shores, and the timing is in line with the completion of the last Jersey Shores (I would not be caught dead watching this dreck). News hasn't been this fun since May of 1974 when Nixon was sweating and twitching or December of 1998 when Clinton was trying to redefine common every day words. It is hilarious to watch the different approaches taken by the two least reliable, but most biased, news sources: CNN can't stop talking Politics and Tomi Lahren from Fox is blaming Obama for destroying Christmas by inventing Festivus (Thank Seinfeld for that Holiday). News is bad when you live for it, like so many people do, or are forced to review it daily as part of your job as I do. I'm amazed at the lower echelon that sinks to name calling and blaming their life's woes on 'dumocrats' or 'retardicans'. That any of this has become such a major part of people's lives is ridiculous.

never watch cnn watch local news but only the first few minutes. sometimes the stories are about my city or other cities I know. hate the weather and sports.
