On july 31st, the new york mets lost the game to the washington nationals 25-4 . That is a pretty bad loss. They even had jose reyes an infielder pitching that night. Oh well. hopefully august will be better :)

That's a very bad score.. wow i bet they felt bad!

Oh. My. Lord.
Isn't there a mercy rule or something?
-
That sounds rough, scraping the barrel on pitchers there. I guess he probably played pitcher in jr or high school. Like when your football team gets down to the emergency qbs such as the punter. I grew up in NY, my family always were Mets fans.

I feel bad for the New York Jets to lose by that score - to say nothing of the New York Mets. :confused1:

Yeah, no thanks to Jose Reyes! lol

The only thing good about that beating was it only counted as 1 loss.
Its better to lose a game like that then losing a heart-breaking 1 run loss i think.

I guess there isn't a mercy rule in professional games!

It's entertainment

wow that is a terrible loss. I hope August gets better for the Mets.

I remember that game. The funny thing was it that at the time it looked like that would be a turning point for Washington and they would start playing better. Hasn't quite happened that way.

Yeah, that was definitely a rough night

That's just par for the course for the Mets this year. Boy, are they ever having a terrible season. They even batted out of order in one game (by mistake) and got caught.
-
Wow, that's crazy. I don't think I've ever seen a team score that high before.

Interestingly two weeks later the Mets beat the Phillies 24-4. Interestingly I believe it was the first time that a team lost by and won by 20 runs in the same season. Go Figure.
