How do you mash yours? I use a hand mixer, and what do you add to them?

I use a hand mixer and add a little milk and butter and salt. Sometimes garlic if I want to go that route.

I have a potato masher and i put milk, butter (lots), salt and pepper, some ranch. I like some lumps in mine.

I put my cooked potatoes through my ricer, add some butter and milk then just stir them, adding a little more milk as needed to make them a nice creamy texture.

I use hand masher then whip with mixer is I want them lighter. Butter, milk, salt, pepper are essentials. Garlic, sour cream are options. I've never tried the ranch but it sound delicious.

Normally a hand masher and use some butter and milk. But I also add garlic, seasoning and if I have on hand, sour cream or cream cheese.

Hand mixer and I roast garlic and add them into the potatoes and they come out superb!! So Yummy if you are a garlic lover. :)

Mash by hand and add some cream and butter. Really the only trick to making them better is how much butter you're willing to put in. If there wasn't our health to worry about I'd probably be eating butter with a little potato in it lol

Haven't made mashed potatoes or cooked anything for that matter in ages although I love mashed potatoes. When I do make them I add a little milk and some real butter and mix them up with a hand mixer. Now I am craving mashed potatoes. yum

I use a hand mixer and add milk and if I want to load them I also add sour cream, bacon, cheddar cheese and green onions! Yum.

i like mashed potatoes but dont make them from scratch

We make our potatoes from instant potatoes... milk & butter hand mixed.
I've made potato soup from instant potatoes & the soup came out excellent :)

I prefer the bake potatoes than mash potatoes.

I use a hand mixer and and butter with some milk. Sometimes I will add garlic but most times the milk and butter make it so good without it.

I put cream in (or evaporated milk) butter, salt and pepper. This is making me hungry and it is early in the morning. LOL

I mash them up with a fork. I add milk and some seasonings. I also make various dishes with potatoes. My husband and I love potatoes.

I save some of the water the taters were boiled in. Then when I mash em I use the water, butter, salt n' pepper and sometimes a splash of sour cream.. if I any left over from taco night. Speaking of... sometimes instead of using a taco shell we'll use baked potatoes and have idaho taco's.

I have a hand mixer and a potato masher, but a lot of times I just use a fork. Not many of us around that know how to do it anymore. I laughed so hard at my grand son when he saw me doing it. He ask me ( grandma are you poor . ) Had to tell him that it was the way my grandma used to do it. He just couldn't understand how it works with out a hand mixer. Kids now a days just don't get it sometimes.

agree that slow cooker is the easiest and worth the wait! also has the added benefit of keeping them hot for hours....

:bunny: :cat: :dog: I use a hand mixer. If I don't feel like using that I use a fork to mash the potatoes. I butter, milk and sometimes a bit of sour cream for taste. Salt and pepper can be added to each persons liking. :bunny: :cat: :dog:
