My personal thought is that the confirmation hearing last week was an embarrassment. What do you think?

It's a freaking circus for sure, but the FBI will try to get to the bottom of this case in a week.

Being a Trauma Survivor.. I am surprised at how much DR Ford has done if she is so traumatized ..flying all over.. teaching in a college.. etc etc.. I remember to this day time date etc of things. I remember date i was rescued.. I understand they say she was in shock.. I was much younger than she and according to Psychology. .older children heal faster than younger .. when it comes to trauma. She stated she couldn't remember details but was "100 percent" certain of who it was.. MY question: what was she doing upstairs with boys.. If this happened.. when everyone was downstairs..At 15 what was she doing at a drinking party??? SHe remembered the music and other little details.. But.. When asked how her polygraph was paid.. other little things that were current she moused out "I can't remember.. I don't Know" She is a research Psychologist..she knows how to work the system.. she is not a simpleton.. I am afraid to this day to go out certain places..Her trauma doesn't keep her from beaches.. She said she feared flying all the way out to this hearing but was flying around the world for everything else..she has too many inconsistencies.. I don't know if anything happened..but i do feel she is a good actor..

Oh Lord. The revelations of these sexual assaults are staggering. I was watching the hearings on both of them. It will be very difficult to prove a case that is more than 30 years old and based on the eyewitness testimonies of others.

Its not really an embarrassment but it is a concern. Til hes proven guilty or innocent i don't think the position that Trump wants to put in him should even be decided til after that happens. I think it needs more then a week kinda short on that time limit and unfair

This hearing just proves Innocent until proven guilty is out the window. It's now guilty until proven innocent. Kavanaugh shouldn't have to prove his innocence. After 6 FBI investigations for his work, he has been cleared every time. None of his friends or associates had anything bad to say about him in all the years he's been in government service. Those accusers best watch out. if they aren't truthful, they could be brought up on charges. I remember everything about my assault. I was 17 and it was 53 years ago. I remember the house, the people there, how I got there and how I got home, AND what time I got there and what time I got home. How could I forget? Told my parents immediately because he threatened to kill me if I didn't show up the next night and I was scared for my life. I didn't leave the house for 3 months after school..
As for Dr. Ford, I find it strange that she couldn't remember anything except it was Brett Kavanaugh. i saw a photo comparing Kavanaugh and another boy and they were almost twins. Plus the idea that Feinstein held onto the CONFIDENTIAL letter until the hearings were over and they were ready to vote to move ahead when boom! Then Feinstein recommends that Katz lawyer to Dr. Ford. I smell a rat big time.
Now Avenatti brings forward another one? That one really takes the cake for falsehood! But he doesn't care if the woman gets her butt in trouble. I found out today that he doesn't have a license to practice in MD, yet he did it. He needs to be disbarred.

It's his word vs her word. It is a circus. It is an embarrassment. I don't even agree with Kavanaugh's politics very much, but I think it's a witch hunt and a targeted attack against him. OMG .... he drank beer. He may have fooled around with girls in high school.
This country is a joke, and the FBI should NOT be involved. What are they going to do? Track down everyone who was at the party 40 years ago? I feel sorry for Kavanaugh and his family. "Dr." Ford should be fired and never be allowed to work again.

My question to those of you that are against Dr. Ford because it was so many years ago, do you believe the men that are coming forward 30, 35 or 40 years later saying Catholic priests sexually abused them? I have never heard a male accuse any of those men of making false statements or claiming it doesn't matter because it was so many years ago.
I don't know if Dr. Ford's accusation is true but I know I'm not making a judgement towards either of them. My problem with Judge Kavanaugh is the demeanor he exhibited at the hearing. The accusations he was making against democrats does not show a person who can be impartial in being a judge. His anger and comments he made to some of the senators was inappropriate.
Also, the previous FBI investigations only concerned Judge Kavanaugh after age 18. This happened when he was 17.

For me, it was about Kavanaugh's own behavior during the "job interview." I don't even want to go into it all on such a forum as this but the "conspiracy theories" regarding the Clintons and the extreme Left being behind all these allegations made me realize he is not fit for the Supreme Court. A lifetime appointment to the highest court of our land should at least provide a modicum of trust that you can keep yourself under control and look at things in as balanced and nonpartisan way as possible. I have no trust that this man is able to do this after watching and listening to him testify. I also doubt his ability to tell the absolute truth.

I did not watch this. I figured that I cannot change this, so I was not about to get in a heated arguement over this hearing. All that we can do is pray that it turns out the way we want.

It is a mess for sure. I know who I think I believe but you can never be completely sure in cases like this.

This whole thing is a farce. Like an extra week is going to allow the FBI to dig up something on him that they wouldn't have found the past 6 TIMES they investigated him! The Dems will no doubt cry that a week was not enough. How much time would be enough? They're still investigating the President after 2 years for Pete sake! Confirm him and move on.

I agree with others that the whole thing is a circus. I do not believe her. I have said it before. IF she was assaulted she should have said something 40 years ago. And IF this happened they were both under 18. Anything that happens before you turn 18 cannot be held against you anyway.
It is a he said she said sort of thing. He said this, she said that, they say whatever. People lie all the time. It is odd that this did not bother her until the democrats wanted to do anything they had to in order to stop him from being nominated to the supreme court. If he had been democrat and it was a Republican making the accusations it would have been thrown out a long time ago. Same as if I came up and said something that happened to me when I was a kid. There is no way to prove it. Get over it. Move on.
And she is not and was not traumatized. People are taught what to say to sway the emotions of the public. This country is doomed. We are so divided and it gets worse every day....
Every race against every other race.
Every race together against the white people.
Republican against democrat and democrat against Republican.
Women against men. Uh, FYI we kid of need them to keep the human race going......
We cannot keep going like we are. People had better wake up. This country is going to fall. The idiots who think this country is such a horrible place have not seen anything yet. We may have problems but it is still the greatest country in the world to live in.

Exactly. This just shows one more thing that shows how low they will go. Clinton had s*e*x*ual relations with at least one and probably several women in the oval office but that is okay. He smoked pot too. Oh but he said he didn't inhale so that is okay. They want to cry and scream it isn't fair because a lot of the Republicans are rich....Are they so stupid they do not know that the demos are too.
And if they succeed in making this country a socialist country their butts are going to be getting out of the bed and going to work. There won't be any of this drawing disability and welfare. Everybody works. And no you won't have this awesome medical care either. It is not going to be this utopia of awesomeness. People need to do some real research and stop listening to CNN and the democrats. They will say what they have to in order to get your vote. Then they will throw you to the dogs.

It really is a circus and I think there should be some type of statute of limitations on sex assault charges. This is totally ridiculous.

I didn't think it was an embarrassment, exactly. I thought it aired a lot of dirty laundry that is really good for our country to be talking about. I also found it extremely entertaining TV, just like Watergate was. But it is true that there are a lot more dignified ways of confirming Supreme Court justices than what happened there.
