Title: Juicing
Post by: cadence4u on March 24, 2019, 02:32:17 pm
As a child, you’ve probably been told that rabbits eat carrots, monkeys eat bananas, and horses eat apples. But our understanding of dietary needs is beyond the “one food fits all” idea. We also know that humans benefit from these foods just as much as animals do, but you may not know just how beneficial these fruits and vegetables really are to your health!

The Power Of Carrots
Has your mother ever told you that carrots are good for your eyesight? It’s not just an old wives tale! Carrots are loaded with vitamin A, which helps the surface of your eyes, as well as the mucous membranes and skin, block bacteria and viruses from entering your body and causing infections.

Just one serving of carrots will give you up to 334% of your daily recommended vitamin A intake! One serving of carrots also gives you 10% vitamin C, 7% vitamin B6, and 17% vitamin K. Carrots make a great snack because they are low in calories, and are a good source of fiber, which makes you feel fuller, longer.

The Boost of Bananas
Though it is not as nutrient-dense as carrots and contains more calories, bananas, like carrots, provide your body with some well needed fiber and protein. When you consume one small banana, you are consuming 10% of your daily recommended vitamin C and 18% of your recommended vitamin B6.

Bananas also contain 10% potassium, which helps to lower your blood pressure and is important for muscle, heart and digestive function. Carrots provide a good amount of potassium as well. Finally, bananas also provide 7% of your daily recommended magnesium, which is essential for strong bones, cell signalling and energy production.

It’s not America’s most popular fruit for no reason. Bananas are a quick and convenient snack that can satisfy your sweet cravings with no washing, cutting or prep needed!

Don't forget the Apples:
The fiber content in carrots and bananas does not compare to the classic apple. One apple provides four grams of fiber! This fiber is soluble and may help stabilize blood sugar levels and lower bad cholesterol. High fiber foods can also help with weight loss!

Apples will also give you about 10% of your daily recommended vitamin C.

All these ingredients combined can help you to get your daily servings of fruits and vegetables in one glass of fresh, delicious juice!

Apple Bananas Carrots Juice Recipe:

Ingredients
2 Apple
1 Banana
3 Large Carrots

Directions
Juice the apple and carrots, then pour into a blender and add banana. Blend for about 30 seconds. Serve chilled.

i dont get enuff nutrients in my body due to diabetes. Every time you take a dump or defecate the nutrients come out of you and have to relenish daily. Hence I take vitamins to make sure my nutrients stay in system. Otherwise diabetes eats away at you slowly. I found out the hard way and and article online about this disease. You waste away if not taken care of.

Have a sensitive stomach and just reading carrots with bananas are making me sick.  I don't juice, I eat my carrots.  Honestly I eat a lot of carrots, it's my main side dish and I still need glasses with my eyes getting worse.  Carrots can't save anyone when there is a lot of factors that go into destroying eyesight.  In my case, I work on a computer almost 12hrs a day so eating all those carrots isn't helping me any.  So, I just happen to like carrots, but haven't seen any benefit in them other than appeasing my appetite.

Not the same thing. By buying store bought juice from store shelves does not giving you any benefits. They add salt, sugars & other add products that is not good for you!

Juicing through Juice extractor does give you the benefits you actually need.

I juiced for an entire summer about 3 years ago.  I had recipes using many different fruits and vegetables and mixtures of both.  I liked it as drinking these fruit/veg mixtures often lets you get nutrients you would not otherwise get into your system.  For example, in my case, it would be kale!  One of the the negatives is if you want variation, it can get expensive.  However, some of them were fun to make and tasted very good.

I bought a juicer a few years back. On the way home I bought a box of apples and a huge bag of carrots. My daughter and I were excited to kick off a new way of doing things and to hopefully let go of some weight. 3 days in to only drinking the apple/carrot juice (no food what so ever) my head hurt and my daughter was super cranky! 4th day she gave up, just couldn't take it anymore. I made it 2 more days, I couldn't stand feeling shaky all the time. I think she dropped 5 pounds, and myself 9.  Every since then, my juicer sits in its original box on a top shelf in my garage. More than a hundred bucks wasted. But I do have a juicer! ;) lol!

I eat a great deal of fruits and veggies.  I also have a bucket garden on the patio in the summer.   I make a lot of smoothies but cleaning all the parts of the blender is not much fun.

MMMM mmm fruits and veggies.  My sister enjoys juicing.  I enjoy shaking.  Taking fruits and vegetables in a powder form and adding them to my protein shakes.  This is a lifestyle I began coming up on a full year now and I gotta way I feel 100% than my prior way of eating.  I eat one fork and plate meal a day in addition to snacks.  So If I'm not up for drinking my fruits and veggies I just incorporate them in my snacks and meal.

When you eat them you will not miss out out on all the nutrient content, not only that when we juice we tend to add thing to it, which is not always the best.

If you get yourself a juicer and do the carrot with some ginger and you can add the type of milk to it of your choice.

I love fresh sqeezed Orange juice but the acidity gives me cramps.  I will do the DelMonete peaches in the 100%juice to get that fix.

Oranges have lots of vitamin C, and acidy too. You could try some abdominal exercise to see it this will take away the bloating, or it could be other contributing factors.

Enjoy juicing as summer is here...
