So how do you prefer the density of your mattress and pillow? I like a somewhat soft, plush mattress but it can't be so soft that there is really no support. However, firm or very firm mattresses are very uncomfortable for me and feel like sleeping on a plywood board. I like pillows that say they are good for combination sleepers, or on my back and side also. I like it also to be plush but not completely collapse when I lay on it. I think I am going to try pillows that says they stay cool the next time I buy some.

We solved that problem 43 years ago when my wife was pregnant with a King Size Waterbed and Goose Down pillows that we still use today. My wife's pillow did get compacted over time, but she just shortened it for me and bought a new one for her.

I preferred firm mattresses & pillows!

I like a very soft mattress and a firm pillow just seems to do better with my body with me having lupus and MS I can’t do for mattresses

I stay at my daughter's house most of the time because I watch her son while she works. I bought a new bed to have at her house. It is a memory foam mattress and it is very comfortable. She gave me for Christmas a couple of years ago a memory foam pillow. When I go back to my house my mattress seems hard now.

In the past I used to prefer very soft mattresses. However at some point I developed back problems and a mattress salesman told me firmer mattresses offer more support. I found this to be true and when I purchased my new mattress in 2017 I purchased a firmer mattress. For years I slept on a softer mattress and was amazed how much better I felt on a firmer mattress. For pillows I prefer goose down feathers and like it to be plush and somewhat cool when I sleep.
