Title: Complaints
Post by: countrygirl12 on May 24, 2019, 04:58:18 am
Several of us have discussed that we feel if a survey is going to require a full name, address, email address and phone number to get paid you should be told that up front.  Not wait until the final submit page then spring that on you and then say oh well you don't get paid.

I have submitted those thoughts on other sites where you can give feed back on the surveys.

Today I start a TAP survey and it tells me in capital letters :

You will be required to submit your full name, full address, email address, and a phone number in order to be paid for completing this survey.  Which paid like 50 cents. lol

Nope.  I hit the X.

It’s funny you just posted this.  I just did a tap and on the second page it asked for my name, address, etc.  Went out of it, but didn’t care because it was on the 2nd page, not the last!

I don't mind giving my name and address but I don't like to give my phone number because of so many telemarket calls

Well it was funny cause we had said before that if they want that they need to tell you up front before you even start the survey.  And then it happened.  I have another survey site I do some and they ask for all that a LOT but it is always the 2nd page and I just hit the X.

I completely agree. I think ALL required screening questions should be asked upfront. It's really obnoxious to spend the time doing a survey and be DQ'd at the end (or refuse to go further because you aren't comfortable providing additional info).

I don’t mind the basic information but I usually don’t get all the way through the survey before I get cut off ( dq) I get really tired of the same ole thing

Definitely a valid complaint. I just today had a survey that immediately asked for name, address, phone, & email... even before I knew what the survey was about.  I X'd out of it immediately as well.  I  totally agree that if a survey is not going to be anonymous -- ie no direct name, address, phone it should state first thing if one would want to continue.  I get to okay continuing on with surveys that require Web Camera access & LinkedIn access surveys, seems it would be only fair & ethical of all surveys to ask first in the beginning.

this isn't bad if they give a # where you can trace your phone calls too

I had this happen again today.  When I clicked to do the survey there was a banner at the bottom of the screen that said you will be required to provide your full name and address in order to get credit for this survey.

So obviously the complaints about this has worked.  Now I know to start with not to waste my time.

I don't mind name, address and email.  Don't like giving my phone number.  I have done it on another site because I liked the reward the survey offered.   I don't answer any calls I don't know who it is so I'm okay with the phone calls.  I've also blocked some of the numbers when I believe it's a telemarketer.

To me it doesn't matter when they ask for those things...I don't supply them.

I too, don't mind name, address and email (I have one JUST for these situations), but I draw the line at phone #.  I like those surveys that at the 1st question ask you if you're willing to use your webcam or microphone - -I x out of those immediately

If I have time and inclination I don't mind the webcam surveys and have done several successfully.

So you do not get upset when you spend 30 or more minutes of a survey only to be asked for your full name, address, and phone number and if you do not supply then you do not get paid?  That is the issue.  Tell me up front you want this so I can X out now.  And I have complained about that several times on other sites when you can rate the survey.  And it seems it has changed and you get a disclaimer before you start telling you that you will be required to give this to get paid.

You do know the surveys are NOT anonymous right?  They, the people behind the survey, already have your name and address.  They get it from the panel.  If you do not believe me send a support ticket.

I done a survey a long time ago and it asked a bunch of questions and basically the point was to prove (LOL) white people are bigots.  And something at the end upset me and I do not remember what. But I got the feeling the survey was not legit what it said it was.  I submitted a support ticket and ask if the people behind the survey knew who we were.

The reply, which was snarly ...
"Of course they know who you are. If you are not comfortable taking surveys then don't take them"

I was a little shocked by the reply from support.   First from the tone and snotty answer. And also by the fact that they know exactly who I am and my contact info.  I truly thought the surveys were anonymous.  I have noticed like a couple years ago I took a survey on car insurance and State Farm was mentioned in the survey and then all of a sudden I am getting solicitations via snail mail from every State Farm office within a 3 county radius.

Well since they can record you and I do not know what they will do with the video and do not feel they need my picture I just tell them I do not have a web cam.  I know I could "successfully" complete the survey.  I just choose not to.

I agree with you  countrygirl12.  I hate it when that happened  with the phone calls later. I didn't ask the to call me and I refuse to talk to them. So I have just "x'ed'  them out also. And I  do not like to  do the web cam's.  Infact I know have a piece of tape over the camera. Just in case.

I just finished a long survey on a different site. The very last question wanted my first and last name. I entered "never" and "mind". We'll see if I get credit for it. LOL!

LOL  That is hilarious.  I have done similar but never used those words before.  I am pretty sure I still got credit.  Like I have said before this is the only site that takes money back from you after it credits to your account.

THIS IS THE ONLY SITE that has ever taken money from my account after it credits.

NOT TRUE!  Branded Surveys has taken money out of my account after it was credited.

I agree, I think they should ask for this information early ( like on the first page)not after you have completed some pages; I appreciate when it is requested upfront that way I can decline to participate if I choose to.

I totally agree, that information should be on the first page, not the last.  As far as webcam goes, no way will I do that.  I just X out if they ask.
