I dread 4th of July.  It's great our city has fireworks and we have a huge amusement park that sets them off also.  What I hate is the fireworks, small cannon shooting and the yelling and screaming from neighbors enjoying setting them off.  Just go to one of the two places that are free and watch them there, not close to my house!

I haven't been to a fireworks show in a long time.  Last year it was raining and got postponed and then I wasn't able to go.  I love a good fireworks show.

We always had fireworks for July 4th we were out in the country and could have our own but not where we live now and with my mobility issue I doubt I will go out to any displays.  Oh well we will see what happens.

The town that I live in has their fireworks display on New Years Eve,  but the town next to ours has a display on July 4.  On New Years Eve I see the fireworks from my back deck.

Our town has a small fireworks show over the small lake.  A nearby town has a large display.  Depending on my work schedule, I hope to see one or the other.

They done a big display at our court house lawn one year a long time ago.  We could see it from home so we watched it.  I don't like getting out and going somewhere.

July fourth is in the middle of the week this year which is kind of a bummer because you have to go back to work the next day...no heavy partying and explosives (such a good combination!).It is kind of like having your birthday in the middle of the week or on Xmas-you can't celebrate in an unrestrained fashion.  Our neighborhood turns into a pseudo military zone with each neighbor spending more than the next. I have estimated that some people are dropping over three thousand dollars on Aerials, mortars, bottle rockets and fire crackers-none of which are legal in our state. My kids started stockpiling fireworks about a month ago. We live in Colorado and have to drive up to Wyoming to get the good fireworks. The police have a true dilemma because who do you arrest when over ninety percent of the neighborhood is engaged?

They can go house to house writing citations.

It is against the law in the city in my county but they don't say anything usually the whole week or so of July 4th.  And won't any other time unless people are complaining.  And then they just tell them to stop.  It is aggravating for people who have jobs and have to work when the neighbors are shooting the huge fireworks that sound like a bomb going off and rattle your whole house.  And the ones doing it usually have spent their whole welfare check on fireworks and are just going to lay in the bed all day the next day.

We have a large show every year at the amusement park in town which is typically synchronized with patriotic songs played on the local radio station. The park sits away from town on a peninsula - so many people travel to the waterfront downtown to watch from a distance.  GREAT view, but the sounds from the firework explosions are nil to none if you watch them off park.

There is always a HUGE traffic jam afterward. I can take a few hours to get out of the park if you are unlucky because there is only one road in and one road out. Driving home from downtown is busy also, but not nearly as bad.

So if the holiday falls mid week and we don't have the 5th off, we generally just stay at home. We still have crazies all over the neighborhood who set things off all through the night, which is frustrating, but better to be home and trying to sleep than stuck in traffic with no shot at all of sleeping.

Love to watch them but don't want anything to do with setting them off.  Too many accidents would rather live it to the professionals.

The Elk club along with a few of the business  men supply and shoot off  fireworks.  We can see most of it from  the corner  of the street. So why fight the crowds. It is more  for the children then the  adults.  They always  put on a great show.  Then comes all of the older kids and young  adults shooting them off until the wee hours of the night. Drives all of the dogs crazy and scares a lotof them. But do they care Nope.

I usually work on the fourth of July.  We've had years in the past when we have family cook outs.  Light fireworks off and finish up with a fire.  Last year we walked over a bridge to watch them get shot off over the river.  It was disappointed with the entire show.  The little town next to us has a nice display year after year so I think we'll try that this year if I don't have to work.

There's a show somewhere in my city every year near enough that if we go stand in the yard we can see some of it over the tree tops. That is about my interest level anyway, lol.

Our poor grandpuppy will not be happy with all the fireworks activity around the 4th.  I, myself, love to watch them.  There's just something spellbinding about seeing that spray of colorful lights filling the sky. I'm with the puppy.  I could do without the noise!

I don't have a problem with fire works as long as they are far enough from my home that I don't hear them.

Unfortunately that is not the case and every year, we hear all the banging and booming.  It scares my pets and upsets me and my husband. Every year they seem to get louder and more obnoxious.

You and I are on the same page in regards to fireworks.  I am tired of the loud ones being set off haphazardly in the neighborhood.  There are babies, sick people, people who have to work second and third shift, and people with animals who are terrified of them.  Go to the designated places for a fireworks show and let it alone!

Neighbors in a our apartment complex buy fireworks that are smaller and easier to handle and blow them up in our parking lot. In our neighborhood with the right vantage point I can also see fireworks to the sides of us that are further away. Usually people start a week or two before the 4th and it doesn't end until at least a week after. Our cities local fireworks are televised at the riverfront live and are the real thing with music choreographed to the spectacular display. I've never been to a real event though.
