Did you feel it? It happened last night on July 5th 2019.
I live in Utah and I knew nothing about it until I saw the news. I understand this is the second one in two days.
I have a friend in Las Vegas who said he felt it.
I still don't know the extent of the damage. What have you learned about the earthquakes in California?
-
The earthquake they had in southern CA yesterday was a 6.4 on the Richter scale, which isn't a low figure. I find it very scary when I hear about earthquakes in CA because I have close friends in southern CA and family near San Francisco too. My friends didn't feel very much in yesterday's earthquake but there is always the chance of another bigger one coming along.

The second one was centered in Ridgerest (I think) and there were injuries and damage with a few fires from broken gas mains. I have a friend in Cali but I don't know how close this is to her. She lives closer to the border. I emailed her after the 6.4 one but haven't heard from her yet and I'm getting worried.

That is so scary! When I lived there I was afraid of the "Big" one hitting! (Never did while I was there)
-
I have a friend who lives in California but thankfully no where close to the earthquakes. It's got to be really scary and I'm glad no lives were lost (I haven't heard of any)
-
I live on the east coast, so only know what the news was reporting and showing. I know they said it was a second one today but I did not follow closely enough to know extent of damage; I hope no lives were loss.

From what I saw there is alot of damage. Scary
-
I hope "no freeway collapse"...
like it happened in many other cases.
-
I don't live close enough to California to feel any of their earthquakes. But I have a friend who is vacationing in the state over the past week or so and he posted about experiencing both of the big ones they've had recently.
