I day dream of taking a cruise... then you hear on the news of some thing going wrong with a cruise ship. I don't care to fly. I would like to take a river boat cruise. I think that is to expensive for what it is. I am working towards a good train ride but it seems like you still wouldn't see anything. It would be like riding a bus unless you get a sleeper car. I actually really take more of a staycation. Basically inexpensive and definitely more comfortable. How do you vacation?

My husband and I always talked about taking a trip on a train but never did - I have no interest in traveing to be honest in fact I have difficulty even leaving my house.

My favorite vacation is going to Myrtle Beach we usually drive there I live in Kentucky and it takes about nine hours to get there but I have a ball we stop a lot sometimes we even stay the night in pigeon Forge to break up the drive some I would love to get back to Myrtle beach soon I miss the beach

I do stay-cations. I disperse my days throughout the year to have long weekends and go on hikes or go to the movies and relax.

I took my mom on a cruise once, because neither of us had ever done it before. I'm very unlikely to do it again. It was kind of boring.
We usually drive or fly, depending on the trip and distance. I would love to take the Empire Builder to Washington/Oregon. Every morning and every night it goes past my apartment, and I think someday I'm going to do it. I've never been on a long-distance train before.

I haven't had a trite and true vacation in 13 years. I've had a weekend getaway here and there. They were always based around water parks and children's activities. My next vacation (and I will start taking regular vacations at this point in my life) is taking my daughter to Disney World. Yes another vacation built around children's activities. However I enjoy Disney so much I've traveled there before with just adults and wouldn't mind doing it again. Beyond this expensive trip we'll be saving and taking off to Hawaii next.

We have a trip booked to go back out to Laughlin, NV the end of October. Last time we drove (32 hours one way). This time we are flying out. It will be the husband's first plane trip. Will be flying back to Hilo, HI next June.

We usually go to a lake resort for fishing, kayaking, swimming, and other water sports.
-
I have not been on a vacation in 15 years

Usually do road trips as my husband and I both like driving and being able to stop along the way and see other sites. Have a trip planned later to drive to Colorado Springs and he is very excited because he was stationed in Army out there.

We own a Platinum Elite membership in Worldmark the Club with 63,000 points we can use for Condos all over the country, or trade for other resort systems like RCI, or even use them for Airlines, Car Rentals, or Hotel stays, so vacationing is a big part of our lives and we do it often.

I used to travel a lot, but don't enjoy it as much as I used to. Getting to be a homebody and want to sleep my own bed after a long day. But we do take a lot of small trips . And when we do I prefer to stay at a hotel/motel instead of someone's house. When we go see family I still prefer the hotel/motel. As both hubby and I are restless sleepers.

AT HOME! :-)

I've been on many vacations in my life cruise, drive across USA, NYC and many camping trips but now I stay at home mostly

My wife goes on vacation once a month-usually smaller vacations like visiting friends in the mountains, high school reunion in Milwaukee, three day weekends in Florida, and this weekend she is in Seattle. Our family went to Europe in May (which I will have paid off tomorrow-yayyy!). I am doing a mini vacation with the kids in October-treating them to a concert and hotel room about fifty miles from home. My son turns twenty one next year and I will be taking him to Brazil and Amsterdam. My wife is going to Australia in February with my daughter (for the Australian Open-tennis). I had looked into doing time shares at one point but they didn't make sense for our lifestyle. I sat down with a representative for five hours, hashing out numbers and even looked at making the purchase a business expense. Ultimately the cost was always higher than booking my own vacation-especially now with all of the travel sites.

Our favorite getaway is to drive up to Northern California to a little spot on Tomales Bay. It is north of San Francisco in the middle of the Pt. Reyes National Seashore and is peaceful and beautiful.
Actually, we live in a vacation destination! Just over the hill to the Pacific Ocean & Malibu; an hour drive to Disneyland; and, if you're into sightseeing Hollywood style - a 20 minute drive to Beverly Hills. We love having company and showing people around - always fun.
-
We go to the beach once a year. Normally we go to gulf in Florida.
-
Very rarely, like being a home body.

I took a train once and it was actually really nice. I felt like you were able to see a lot.
My boyfriend and I are taking a trip to Florida in December and we both will be first time flyers. It's definitely anxiety inducing! But it was $700 for a train or $260 for a flight. Lol.

We haven't taken a real vacation in years. MONEY :moneymouth:

I don't think I would want to get on an air plane these days.

I'm not a big fan of travelling so I'm happy to consider it a vacation just staying at home with nobody bothering me :p

Mu dream vacation is to go to Europe and visit all the countries that I can. since that is not going to happen any time soon, I try to go Home, Panama, once every year or 2, and every summer we make a trip to a Beach, Myrtle Beach is really nice. This year we made the trip to Disney World and took a few days and went to St. Augustine Beach, it was really nice

We have taken a variety of different types of vacations, long, short, beach, mountains, big city, cruises, train trips, plane trips, overseas, within the US, etc. I like them all. The older I get, the harder it is to travel, so I am trying to get as many trips in as I can while the getting is good!! We take every opportunity to travel with our musician daughter and her band who are on the road almost every week. We go to the performances that are close by, but also some of the farther away ones. In February, we followed her to Isla Mujeres for a Song Writers' Festival. We are presently visiting a few of the military bases where she is on the Women Rock the Forts tour. We just got back from Ft. Gordon, Ft. Stewart, and Ft. Rucker.

My family hasn't been on vacation in several years, but I absolutely love a cruise! My husband and I have only been on one cruise (our honeymoon), but we have memories from that that we still talk about 23 years later! I also don't care to fly, but I would be interested in a train trip, as long as there's scenery to be had. :peace:

I would suggest NOT taking the Eurostar from London to Paris at 186 miles per hour under the English Channel. Not much to see on that trip.

This summer we went to be with family in NC. It's the first vacation we have taken in YEARS! :)
-
Usually we go visit relatives. My husband and son go fishing for a week in summer and hunting in the autumn. My daughter and I stay home and eat at restaurants and go shopping.

I just got back from Italy last week. I haven't been anywhere internationally in two years. This was my third time there. I haven't been on a cruise yet but it's definitely on my bucket list. I take a road trip once a year.
