Title: Movie remakes that are better than the original
Post by: pectacon on September 19, 2019, 11:08:58 am: There seem to be very few new ideas in Hollywood anymore since almost everything is a remake these days and they're almost always inferior. Can you think of any where the remake is actually better?

The only one that comes to mind for me is True Grit. I actually liked the Jeff Bridges version from a few years ago a lot better.

Post by: arobinson1331 on September 20, 2019, 10:26:22 pm: I'm pretty young so a lot of the movies I watch are remakes and I don't even realize. Like Ocean's 8 is apparently a remake. The biggest one is karate kid with jaden smith. from when I was younger. I think I've seen the original of that one though.

I thought they were both pretty good, but I also liked Tim Burton's touch.

And I usually like Gene Wilder, but I loathed *bleep* Wonka for some reason, I hated it. Not sure why W'illy needs to be bleeped out.
