There are some surveys that ask what religion you are and how often you attend religious services.
Well, I am no longer able to get to my House of Worship but I stream regularly every single week. I put aside time to stream religious services at my favorite House of Worship and I do so every single week without fail. I am part of the Streaming Community and there are about 4,000 of us from all over the world so it is not a small thing.
When asked how often, I attend religious services, I answer about once a week
How would other FC members answer if put in my position? My choice would be to attend religious services in person but since I can not, I stream. I am so grateful for technology.

not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another--and all the more as you see the Day approaching.

With technology and disability conditions from elderly or whoever else it can serve the purpose. But God also says his spirit is there whenever 2 or more are gathered in his name.Dont turn it into texting.God approves us in his house of worship.EZ to see how Jesus felt when they turned his fathers temple into a flea market instead of a place of worship.
Use discernment when NOT to be there.Read the link above.

To me your answer for attending religious services about once a week is fine and honest. Even though you are live streaming, you are still there. I pretty much only get the religion questions on Political Surveys.
-
I agree with your answer.

I agree with your answer you may not go to a place of worship but you are attending in some way.

You can answer how ever you wish but technically you do not attend religious services. Watching it on TV is not ATTENDING the service. You are correct it is good to be able to watch things online.

I would attend my church service every Sunday, but since my daughter had her hip replacement, I haven't been to church, but as soon as her Dr. releases her I will start back.
-
Thank you all for your input. I was wondering how FC members might respond. I consider myself attending religious services on a regular basis even though I stream but I recognize not everyone agrees with me.

Bostonphil I pray that one day you will be able to attend the service you stream in person. Your answer is correct to me. In some mega churches, even though you are in the building you watch the service via live steam because of the size of the church.
-
Seems right to me...
-
Your attention and devotion is in attendance, so your answer is perfectly reasonable. As technology advances, everything will change. I am in a Bible study right now explaining how the Church or House of Worship is so much more than showing up at the building every Sunday!

Ignore them, my preacher actually encourages it.

Lemme ask a question. If you were getting married and everybody viewed the ceremony from the internet, how would you feel?
Now if someone was 1000s of miles away and couldnt make it,you can understand that or they were ill.
Point is im sure God would want us there if we could make it.
-
I agree with your answer as you are there in spirit... I won't get into anything who disagrees... it's their choice, but I wouldn't put him down for it, especially as you do not know the reason

I am a doctoral student and I ATTEND classes by sitting in front of my computer. We listen to lectures, watch videos and have small group meetings. IF you are involved with the service that you are streaming, whether through social interaction or small group participation, then your are ATTENDING.

I would just go to a church nearby and answer the religion of the church you go to and that's it. For this particular survey.
-
i've never been asked about religious affiliations for a survey. I would just say what matches most closely
