I haven't eaten at home or made my own Thanksgiving dinner in years in fact since my hubby passed away in 2013. But my son who lives with me and I are making thanksgiving dinner with the works this year. And I am looking forward to it (not the clean up lol) but the food yep. :turkey: :turkey: :turkey: :turkey: :turkey: :turkey: Whatever you guys are each doing I hope you are blessed and enjoy your holiday.

It's wonderful that you're having a traditional Thanksgiving meal (with the works!) with your son Thanksgiving Day. We've never had a Thanksgiving meal at our house since we've been married (almost 24 years), because first my dad's mother held it at her house, then since she's passed away, we always have it at my dad's house. So at this point, I'm in no hurry to have Thanksgiving at our house. But years in the future, when we do host the Thanksgiving meal, I'll be sure to really go all out for it. I love Thanksgiving food!!! :peace:

I can't wait. So many carbs! If only we had mac and cheese as well! lol

Ive been antsy waiting for dinner, finally its this week!!!
I read today somewhere that we eat about 4500 calories on Thanksgiving, heh I can imagine we do, but its so hard not to :)
I do hope you have a wonderful day with your son :) And to all the fellow FC members who are celebrating hope you all have a great day, eat too much, and we will see you after your naps LOL!

There's just nothing like a traditional Thanksgiving meal! It conjures up classic Norman Rockwell paintings. I think the anticipation is better than the actual meal. I usually eat too much and feel guilty. Now that my husband and I have stricter diets, we no longer can eat all the traditional goodies and all we want, but we've had our share in the past. We are still looking forward to the fun and fellowship of our family together, even if we have dietary restrictions.

Since my mother is still in the hospital, the whole family is going to a local state park for their Thanksgiving buffet. This is our first Thanksgiving ever that we won't be having a family meal at our parents' home. My sisters didn't want to since Mom couldn't be with us.

I will not be eating turkey this year, I will replace the turkey for pork...
