Title: Shipping problem
Post by: Nancy5 on December 06, 2019, 07:29:19 am
On Cyber Monday I ordered 3 things from Kohl’s.  2 tops and a sheet set.  Yesterday they came.  One top, another bag that was opened and nothing in it, and no sign of the other bag.  I called Kohl’s and they said they would send out another sheet set, but the other top was not sent out yet.  Now I guess I’ll just wait and see if I do get the other 2 items.

And?

I have had 2 orders lost by FedEx so far this year and the items were resent.  I am having an issue right now with another, also FedEx grrr.  The company said they shipped it.  Well no you didn't because FedEx said they never received it.  So we are waiting until Monday.  I am all for ordering and not having to go to the store but it is annoying when stuff does not arrive or gets lost.

The delivery drivers are all complaining about having to deliver packages.  IT IS YOUR JOB!  What you signed up for. But anyway, seems a lot of them just don't care.

I don't know why someone would deliver you an empty bag.  That doesn't make sense.  Obviously you did not order an empty bag. I would complain to the shipper, ie FedEx, UPS, USPS or whomever about that one.

I have had similar problems with shipped items recently the worst one was with a 70$ foot stool I ordered from Amazon who told me it was showing as received.  The way our community is it would be near impossible for a package to get stolen from by the front door but Amazon said they didn't really ship it to e-mail the actual vendor and that ticked me off they did that once before and so has Wal-mart (with somehing from "China")  I am cautious about ordering from either of them now.  Amazon made it right but wal-mart never did.

That is not Amazon's fault. You have to look and if it ships from someone else then you do have to contact them. Use to Amazon would have your back though.  And you do have to also be careful because there are people from China selling on Amazon now. I was ordering something for my mom and noticed one of the items said it would be here some time in Jan.  I was like woah, hold up here. I deleted that item from the cart.  And she told me she had seen some things that were shipping FROM CHINA.  I ordered something a couple years ago and when it took forever and I got to checking and it was coming from Canada.  And to add to insult when I tried to write a review and mentioned it shipping from CANADA Amazon refused to print my review.  They said I have to change it for it to be published.  Well why don't you write one for me saying what you want it to say!

I don't really trust for things to get delivered on time when they are supposed too, if I can't get it the day of, like going to the actual store and buying it. Things like shipping during Holidays is always hectic.

I had this happen once through walmart. I always keep tabs on the tracking history and have a not on my door telling all packages delivery ring the bell. They always do and it is always good now. hopefully you get your stuff soon :peace:

Yeah, sometimes I think it is best just to shop in the store. I hate when stuff like that happens.

It is. But 99% of the time you will get the items when you are suppose to.  I would not wait until it was to be delivered around the 23rd or the 24th cause that is cutting it close but most things do actually get delivered.  And if it gets lost the company will ship it again.  And then if the first item gets "found" you just get 2 of them.

Most times the don't even look at the door.  They leave the package and go.  Some will knock quick and go.  They have a lot to do.  So unless it is a sign for package they are not going to hang around.  I am signed up for the alerts on my phone so I know when it gets delivered.  I had one not long ago and I got an alert on my phone that said my FedEx had been delivered.  I went and looked at it was on the front porch.  They are not required to knock on your door.  Nor wait for you to come to the door.  Again, unless it is something that is signature required.  You can set up for all your packages to require a signature but you better be available to come to the door and to be at home when a package arrives.  I also know if you get to smart mouthed with them they can hold your packages at the nearest facility and you can go pick them up yourself.  I know of a situation where that happened.  Combo of her smart mouth and she kept saying her packages were never delivered.  So they told her she could just come to the nearest shipping facility and pick her packages up there.  About a 40 minute drive.

I haven't had any of the problems YET. I know there will be a time it will happen. I always look at where an item is shipping from and if it's from another country, I don't order it. I try to find another seller with the same product that they probably got from thet wholesaler in the other country. If not, I just forget it.

One problem I do have is with Ebay lately. My preferred payment is PayPal yet more than once, they have charged my credit card. They just did it on Wednesday for an item for hubby's gift. This is a big item and I didn't want it on my CC. I immediately cancelled it within 2 minutes. I received confirmation from Ebay on the order, and a couple minutes later received the confirmation that I wanted to cancel, yet received an email from the company where the gift is coming from confirming my order.  I complained to Ebay via phone about this.  Ebay said I won't receive confirmation of cancellation from the company until Monday. Cyber week is over but I'm hoping this item will still be on sale. I'll go on Amazon and order the same thing and get 5% cash back from my CC.

I heard that on time deliveries before Christmas will be difficult (this year) due to the late Thanksgiving. Ordering after Thanksgiving gives nerchants less than thirty days with which to get things shipped at the busiest shipping time of the year. I have been pretty good about not procrastinating and had over ninety percent of my holiday shopping done before Thanksgiving with everything but two items received and wrapped. I have vowed to stay away from brick and mortar stores/malls and been really good about sticking to it for the last three years. I still go to grocery stores because the quality of fresh produce and good cuts of beef/pork/poultry are important to me and dry goods end up being more expensive on line. Good luck and have a great holiday!

If they lose an item you have purchased, let Amazon know so they will send an email to whoever is selling the item. Don't forget to click on the button to let Amazon know why you are sending it back.  The seller will send you an email to ask if you want a  repeat or a refund.  Back in the summer I  ordered a pair of sandals that was too big.  So I let Amazon know what the problem was, the seller and will get in touch with you.  In my case they didn't want the sandals back so we bargained for the amount they would refund me.  I countered for a higher price than their offer.  All was completed and Amazon let me know of the refund.

I am so sick of hearing about the 'late Thanksgiving' and that should not make a difference.  You still have 4 weeks.  Most places are guaranteeing 2 day shipping lately.  Or even a week.  So it is on you, the person who orders.  If you order before Dec 20 you should not have any problems.  I have my shopping done.  If I order anything else it will be today or tomorrow from Amazon. I will cancel my free trial of Prime Monday or Tuesday.  I think Tuesday is the last day I have it free.  It is not worth paying for.

You bargained?  You ask for MORE than you paid to start with?  WHY would they give you more than you paid to start with?  Or maybe I am not understanding your post.  They should either take the stuff back and refund your money OR just tell you to keep it and refund your money - the amount you paid.  SO many people lie I guess they thought you would wear them any way and they could give you a partial refund and you get too big sandals for a cheaper price. lol

That is awful, hope you receive your missing items; that's why I am not particular about ordering things online; for me I just prefer to go to the store.

This is exactly why I do most of the shopping at a actual store or have it shipped to the store for pick up.  I rarely order from Amazon.  Tried to order two things from Amazon and it took the sellers over two weeks to tell me the items were no longer available.

99% of what I order from Amazon ships from Amazon.  I don't fool with ships from the seller.  It should have told you when you ordered if it was in stock or not.  The only place we have to shop is Dollar General, and I cannot afford to shop there, and Walmart.  I am trying to avoid Walmart at all costs.  I have heard from managers at Walmart they are moving toward being mostly an online seller.  Not sure how that would work with groceries.  I am not ordering groceries online.  And most of the stuff is more expensive.  I picked up some of the International Delights coffee creamers (24 for $1.66) and the same thing online was $13.00.  I don't know about where you are but our Walmart is phasing a lot of stuff out.  Most of what is on the shelf is their brand of stuff.  And a lot of shelves are empty.

Guess it is good thing that I live south of the city of Chicago.  About 6 Walmart stores and 4 Target within the area.  There is a Dollar General here too but it is really dirty and sloppy just like the Family Dollars so I never shop there. Really don't think Walmart will ever phase out many of its items but there is different and more available online at their  website

Yeah, receiving (or not receiving) packages from delivery companies, it can be a real headache. But, of course, I remember when you used to have to order things by phone or by mail, and they used to take 6 to 8 weeks to arrive via USPS 4th class book rate mail, LOL! Even so, I still get antsy when things don't arrive as or when promised.  :peace:

I have had a few problems over the years, but it is always the post office fault, my local post office has had packages for me but my home address number is the same as another place, just a different street number and they dont look at the street number just the house number and take it to them. Luckily I have always gotten a text saying my package was delivered, so I run down to the post office and show them the message and they contact my carrier and she goes back to get my package.

I received packages yesterday that do not belong to me.  I was expecting items I ordered to be delivered but I got someone else's delivery instead.  I'm wondering if they got my package?  I have sent a message to the lady whose packages I received.

That does not make sense.  You can't have the same address as someone else.  My house number is the same I am sure as many other house numbers.  A "house number" and a "street number" would be the same.  Unless maybe you live in an apartment complex or something.

This would only happen once or maybe twice with me and I would come unglued and it would be the last time it happened.  It is not that hard to look at the address and get it to the correct place.  I had a UPS left here a few days ago that was not mine.  I hollered at him before he left and said this is not mine.  He said well where does it go?  IDK I am not the delivery driver.  But you need to find MY package and take this one to it's destination.

I do fulfillment shipping for Amazon, I have to let them now asap or within 24 hours(latest) if items are out of stock or their shipping/tracking numbers.  I think if you cannot order by the 15th at the latest if can be really iffy if your packages will make it on time.  The volume of shipping goes up so much at this time of year.  Usually I am shipping 10-20 packages a day, right now it is closer to 150 packages a day.

What does that mean?  I have heard that before.  So you have stock at your home and you ship packages for Amazon?  I thought their stuff came from their warehouses....

Nobody seems to be able to give a straight answer. Don't think I am interested in doing it I just want to know what it means.

Guess its just bad luck ? Like it happens to me sometimes as well and its really a bummer to add on to that I hope it gets delivered by a trusted company UPS,Fedex,Etc. My Bestbuy area thought they can cut the cost of delivery by getting a new company to deliver my items.  Last year I bought a new monitor and they just tossed it on my lawn not even ringing nor notifying me they came.

There is a difference in tossing it on your lawn and leaving on porch and not ringing the door bell or knocking.  They are not required to notify you they left a package.  Unless it requires a signature.  It is perfect legal and within their rights to leave the package and go on.  I am very familiar with the UPS and driver helper positions.  All they have to do is leave the package.  Some will knock and take off.  Why?  Because they have 480 more packages to deliver.

Delivery service has been awful this year.

This is true.  Fedex is the worst. I ordered something a few days ago guaranteed 2 day shipping (no it wasn't amazon) and Fedex can't seem to get the package on the truck.  SO I called the company, since talking to Fedex was a waste, and they credited half the total back to me.  I assume they will charge that back to Fedex. Fedex has lost at least 3 packages of mine this Christmas season.  All were eventually straightened out. But it is aggravating.  Esp when you make arrangements to be available to receive the package then they just "forget" to put it on the truck.

We have had on packaged delivered this year that Amazon fixed.  Their was a cut in the envelope and the product was taken out.  Pretty sure the vendor did not put the item in, the item was not flat and the envelope showed inductions.

Four years ago, I ordered my first flat screen LED TV online from Best Buy.  It was a 40 inch smart Samsung TV.   They failed to ship the middle part of the stand and I got the bottom.  It took me a while to figure this out.  Best Buy CS was terrible and would do nothing to fix the problem.  I finally called Samsung and they shipped my that part of the stand for free, even though it was Best Buys packing mistake.   I get the stand and the TV together and realize I was shipped a bad (none-working ) remote as well.  Back on the phone with Samsung and I finally convince them to ship me a another remote, at no charge.  It was 3 or 4 months b4 I could actually watch this TV.  This experience put a sour taste in my crow for anything from Best Buy and I no longer shop there, even though they seem to have good deals.   :turkey: :turkey: :turkey:

I once ordered something online from Amazon and accidentally had it shipped to the wrong address (it was like 1274 and I typed 1724 or something like that). Fortunately they reshipped one of the items to the correct address for free, which was nice. Nowadays I have stuff shipped to the amazon locker or ups access point so I can pick them up much more easily than risk having the dropped off at door.

I picked a star from our Angel tree at church for a four year old girl.  One of the presents I ordered came with four days to spare, but the store sent the wrong item, not even close to what I ordered.  When I called customer service, they reordered the item and said they would expedite the shipping so that it would arrive on Friday.  I needed to have it wrapped and at church by the following Sunday.  It didn't arrive on Friday although tracking showed that it had arrived in my town in the early AM.  It didn't actually arrive until Monday, but I was able to wrap it and take it directly to the school from which it would be distributed.  When I returned the "wrong" item to the retail store near me, the clerk said she had helped several people who had also received the wrong item!
