I went to the store a few days ago and found a watermelon that was extremely sweet. I am now looking forward to summer when I will be able to find it everywhere for less money. What is your favorite summer fruit?

I love watermelon too and have been happy to pay $3 for a personal size treat, but my all time favorite is Hood Strawberries grown only in Oregon and available for a very short time and best when spring showers are followed by warm sunny days. I gladly pay over $3 for a one pint box of them. It helps me understand how I can eat the glorious looking California varieties that show up early in the summer that look grand in a photograph, but taste like straw indeed.

Only thing is when you buy one you don't know what it will taste like. Unless you cut it open in the store. And they would probably frown on that. lol Usually we have a big trailer from another state parked in random parking lots selling watermelons.

I love watermelon also, especially when it is cold and sweet; love when it is in season.

I would think it is watermelon. It is hard to find a good one. I also was lucky enough to get one with great taste. I am in the middle of making pickling the rind.

I enjoy a good tasting watermelon as well but my absolute favorite fruit are peaches! Thankful that their are some health benefits to eating them...they are good for the digestion, can boost your immune system and also help with weight management.

This is a good time for watermellon. Was taught years ago if you flick the water mellon and here and there and if it sounds hallow inside its usually ripe and usually sweet. Easy quick tip thats been pretty full proof my entire life

Watermelon is by far my favorite summer fruit! When you find that just right watermelon, crisp and sweet, then you've really got a prize! I also love fresh-grown tomatoes and cucumbers in the summer. They taste so much better than they do during the rest of the year. My grandpa used to have a beautiful tomato garden. He would pick a big juicy tomato off of the vine, wash it off with the garden hose, and then eat it like an apple! :peace:

I love watermelons also, but they never taste as good your own home grown ones. I would love to find a yellow meat watermelon, they are so delicious. Too bad the stores charge too damn much to buy one.

I love watermelon and actually saw in the store sale papers that they are starting to sell them. $3.88 for a whole one but I really don't mind paying for since I love all fruit.

I love watermelon, but I love most fruit.

I love several types of melons in the summer. My favorite is making a fruit salad of watermelon, cantaloupe and honey dew melon chunks with blueberries added. Yummy!

I just bought a watermelon in the store yesterday in BJ's which was so delicious and sweet

I love all the fruits and vegetables that grow in the summer (and quite a few that grow in other seasons). My favorite has to be watermelon, though, as long as it's crisp, juicy, and sweet! My favorite summer veggies are cucumbers and tomatoes. Cucumbers during the summer have a slightly sweet taste to them (at least for me). They remind me a lot of watermelons. That's probably why I love them so much! :peace:

I love watermelon as well, not only does it taste yummy it's also very healthy since it's high in water content and delivers many important nutrients, including lycopene and vitamin c.

I love summer because so many different kinds of fruits are available. My favorite is mango I have one I'm waiting to cut now. I also bought a few days ago strawberries, cherries, watermelon, grapes and peaches.

glad you found a sweet one. I hope I get a nice one before the summer is out.

I love watermelon and they must be grown in within the right season. I like them sweet and my very favorite is the yellow meat watermelon. Those are really tasty.
